FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

Kind of with you on this, except for its insistence on crossing double yellow lines to get to the oncoming traffic side of the road. Most of the the issues are just annoying, but selection the wrong lane or being so far over the center line on two lane roads means I can't trust it even on the...

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

exactly this ^^ Since 12.3.4 while approaching a traffic light needing to turn left while driving in the left most lane with 200ft to go, the car signals right and moves over, then with <100ft to go tries to move back but can't due to traffic. Even FSD 10.69.x did better than that.
  3. Twiglett

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

On some roads for me, 12.3.4 is bouncing over rumble strips it’s so far over the yellow lines :(

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

My regular weekend campsite drive - 100 mile round trip with 12.3.4. All the usual good bits were good, including a one positive surprise. First the positive surprise - with no update since 12.3.4 it has suddenly started seeing 65mph signs. Not consistently, but that was interesting that it just...

Question about your front AC vent direction?

I've noticed that I can't stop the AC from freezing my hands while I'm holding the steering wheel. Even with the vent set as high up as it will go, it's still hitting the bottom of the steering wheel. It never gets as high as hitting the top of the steering wheel or chest height. Splitting the...

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

Sadly bouncing over the yellow line was on the interstate, so pretty sure that’s on the V11 stack. Interestingly I’m seeing similar issues on my Model 3 which is basic AP running 2024.8.9

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

First commute with 12.3.4 was pretty underwhelming. It was so far over the left side lane marker that we were bouncing over the cats eyes. One time it was bouncing on the center lane markers with oncoming traffic, very concerning. Commute traffic meant that speed limits were never a concern, but...

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

@JulienW I spent a bit more time with the speed limit blindspot weirdness and found something "interesting". FSD is using the type of road to figure out which stack to use and is using V12 stack on 65-70 two lane roads, it only goes to V11 when its divided. At least in this local Texas area, I...

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

Regardless of which stack it is, 12.3.3 has borked speed limits on those roads. 11.4.9 read the speed signs perfectly and reacted, so 12.3.3 may well be using the V11 stack, but it completely ignores any speed limit sign >60 and there are a whole bunch of them here in Texas.
  10. Twiglett

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

For sure! Even with auto speed off, it's driving along at 52mph in a 60 with set speed at 65 with other drivers getting bored and overtaking us. Still having to goose it to get it get a move on, then it suddenly wakes up and accelerates hard. Many times it drives like a human, the rest of the...

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

I'd rather not enable auto speed and have to correct even more issues just to see when it makes the switch between 11&12 :D
  12. Twiglett

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

I got that email and laughed. Todays main drive it tried to move into the oncoming traffic and ignored speed limit signs over 50, basically failing in the two main areas they called out.
  13. Twiglett

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

That’s what is supposed to happen when you report it as well. I report all of the issues I see.
  14. Twiglett

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

First drive with 12.3.3 on my regular camp run. Some good bits, some scarily bad. First really bad bit -car decided the it really wanted to be one lane to the left, so it crossed double yellow lines into the oncoming traffic lane. WTF. Immediately took over before it got too far and reengaged...

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

I got to use FSDS12.3.3 on my daily commute for the first time - and also for the first time it managed an essentially takeover free pair of drives. Once I got it out of the garage and onto the road at home to the street by the work parking garage, it drove the whole way there in the morning and...

MY Uberturbine wheel cover (Yeslak) stuck on wheel, broke coming off

I've had Rimetrix on my Model 3 for the last four years and 76k miles, not had any issue with them. I always take them off before getting the tires replaced/rotated. Just got to remember to remove the center cap because it locks them on.
  17. Twiglett

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

That's exactly what I've been seeing. Highway is fine, city roads are good, it's everything else, of which there are lots in Texas. It just seems to ignore speed limit signs over 65 and doesn't even render them any longer - just like bad old FSD 10.4 Really rather annoying.

Supercharger - Cedar Park, TX - E Whitestone Blvd

Took a longer look today and realized that there is no sign of any Tesla boxes, so no stalls etc yet. Seems odd to start if they don't have the Tesla hardware, but what do I know ?

    Homelink retrofit install failure

Correct, the MyQ sender unit has a door sensor stuck to the door. It works independently of any other closer triggers so is an additional option. I have a HomeKit trigger from Meross that works really well and also has a door sensor. I've changed my Model 3 to use MyQ instead of Homelink now...

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

I only got one drive on FSDB12.3.2.1 On Texas roads it’s hard to figure out which stack it’s using. Little country lanes often have 65mph limits so not sure. Overall impressions were just OK. Slow junction turns were much more natural and smooth (hate using that word but it’s accurate here)...

Supercharger - Cedar Park, TX - E Whitestone Blvd

Yes, very strange. They’ve completed the conduit and pulled the fencing back to just around the construction equipment. I’m guessing this will take a while

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

Looks like I’m back in the program. My 2024 Model Y is getting 2024.3.6 now while the Model 3 I transferred FSD from has just got 2024.8.7 Can’t wait to try it, I’m sat here using my phone as a hotspot to make sure it downloads while I’m out camping for the weekend. Have to wait until Monday to...

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

I can answer that question. I have a HW3 Model 3 and a HW4 Model Y Traffic light behaviour on HW4 is noticably better. It spots red lights and other traffic hazards much sooner than HW3 ever did. Same for highway, HW4 spots brake lights further away than HW3.

    Homelink retrofit install failure

As I already have a wifi based HomeKit opener, and a Homelink transmitter, plus a numeric keypad on the garage door for the very small chance of internet being out just as I drive up the driveway. For the other 99.995% of the time I can enjoy stateful door operations  Obviously other...

Checked today, definitely under active construction. Location is confirmed where I highlighted on the map in post #3
  26. Twiglett

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

This is a problem in Texas as well. We have regular roads that are up to 75mph speed limits that are not always divided and not restricted access. This has often caused issues with all versions of FSD to date.
  27. Twiglett

    Homelink retrofit install failure

just wanted to correct an inaccurate statement/sentiment of mine I just tried a trial of MyQ and found that it does not replace my existing Homelink opener or impact my existing HomeKit enabled trigger. It does a nice job of adding the MyQ functionality to my existing systems without interfering...

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

I was on the "early access" FSD beta 2023.44.30.x consistently on the newest FSD and waiting for FSD 12.x Bought a Model Y and transferred FSD from my old car, which was delivered with 2023.44.200 so no chance of getting FSD12, just a few days before my car would have got FSD 12. Most...

    Resolved: FSD Transfer Fight

That doesn't reverse the removal of FSD from the source car, the agreement makes it clear that its a one shot, irreversible deal.

    FSD Beta on HW4

One thing I have noticed with my HW4 car on FSD, it is much less settled in the lane than my HW3 car. It's almost like there is a mild ping pong going on, even on a straight road it is constantly shifting left to right by what feels like maybe six inches or so. Just enough so you're aware of it...

    Resolved: FSD Transfer Fight

I bought a new Tesla but kept my old one that had FSD on it. Transfer happened the same afternoon as I picked up the new car, seamless transaction.
  34. Twiglett

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

How do you think I feel. I was on the early/controlled releases since 10.3 but bought a new car. My loyalty reward was to lose access to that and get regular FSDb, I won't be getting V12 until the completely replace 11.4.9

    Angela Chao accident

With the 2020 Model X the "emergency" door release is the door handle, no need for an emergency release.

2024 Model Y LR (Austin build)

darn it - too late to edit. Obvious is a relative term ;) Look inside the front wheel wheel by the suspension. Look for either cast webbing (for casting) or regular old spot welds.
  37. Twiglett

2024 Model Y LR (Austin build)

Don't need to, just look inside the front wheel well, its pretty obvious.
  38. Twiglett

I just drove 800 (highway) miles on FSD v11.4.9 and it was really, really good.

it can do that sometimes, then the following day it figuratively puts the laundry in the microwave ;)

    Tesla Newbie - PPF Necessary?

You don’t apply it like that. Do it properly and get good results, treat it like whiteout and get crappy results

Replace steel fenders, a-pillars, and rear hatchback door with Plastic panels.

Because Fisker are a well known source of leading edge manufacturing techniques, maybe due to only using contract manufacturing ? /s

    Dealing with Curb Rash

simple - as with all after market stuff. Don't assume the service company has any clue how to do anything other than their service. How do you tell them to "be careful"? Give them written instructions? Send a video? Alternatively, take responsibility for removing the covers yourself. In...

Are there any heads up displays that show nags so you don’t have to (unsafely) look down?

A bit like your hands are on the wheel ... where they're supposed to be?

2024 Model Y LR (Austin build)

Sorry, but that isn't accurate I'm afraid. Model Y with 2170 doesn't have the front casting, at least my sample size of one was built in Jan 2024 and doesn't have a cast front (Model Y LR AWD). Does have cast rear though.

Poll: When will FSD V12 be in wide release?

yeah - my previous OG FSDb car is now pending a 2024.2.7 install. The new one with FSD transferred is still on 2023.44.200.5.1 - who know how long it will sit on that version. Looks like I'm waiting for V12 to completely replace V11 before I see it now. Still, I get to drive my new Model Y with...

    Homelink retrofit install failure

I have my new Model Y now, and honestly having just spent $50k on a car, the idea of struggling and fighting to get an eBay sourced homelink working in order to save $100 is just crazy, got better things to do. I've just ordered the Tesla part direct and will happily let the Tesla tech install...

BTW big changes in 2024 Model Y vs 2023 earlier Model Y

those changes seem small and incremental rather than "big" or "huge" or maybe my hyperbole meter is calibrated differently. May also be why not even the Tesla sites have noted the changes. Tesla is constantly changing the design, the door closing sound is noticeably different from a car built...

    FSD Beta on HW4

interestingly I did notice a difference today. HW3 really seems to have less capability further down the road. On the highway is busy traffic, HW3 will not respond to brake light way out in front. Conversely with HW4, it will start to slow down much earlier than HW3 and be much more relaxed...

Just got a new Model Y to go with our 2018 Model3. Not having USS sucks, but so far FSD is no different
