There is usually atleast one "massive breakthrough" announcement per week on battery tech, and most of them are premature and fake. Well, scratch that, all of them are fake. These announcements are dime a dozen and generally made to dupe investors of their money. Most of these breakthroughs never come out of R&D stage.

BUT this one comes from CATL, the largest battery manufacturer from China. A very highly successful company. Also they claim they are ready to mass manufacture. So hopefully there is some truth to it and some real breakthrough comes out.

No mention of cost...

No mention of lots of things. We're seeing several of these ultra-dense battery announcements.

Also, there's the use of "mass production", which can be use to fool people into thinking it's further along than it is.

For example, Tesla has mass production of its 4680s, but that doesn't mean it's successful.

Still, better they're made than just being a lab project. It's a very good sign.
