If offered the update are you delaying install of 5.8?

I know that I probably can't stay on 5.6 forever. But I am hoping that this is short-lived and I can take a later update instead and avoid the drama of 5.8. Once TMC comments on this issue I will decide whether to accept the update. I have to believe that post the warranty period they cannot force us to take updates.

I don't know about that. It may be intentional, and (less likely, methinks) may even be planned as permanent, versus a stop-gap--seriously, I doubt this idea--but that doesn't mean that we have to eat it. It's amazing how companies will reconsider mistakes, when pushed by customers.

But I suspect it's just the first step. (I'm behind on the forums, so if Tesla's already said something about it...ignore this comment.)

I did the update a few days ago not realizing it took away the low setting. That should have been clearly stated AHEAD of time. The car is too high as it is. Not happy at all.

I have a long trip to California coming up, including 300 miles on the 101 in a single day, without any SuperChargers.

I'll wait to see how the change is impacting range for others. With the improved regen things are actually looking up.
