Flat tire procedure

1996 version weighs under 5 pounds so that is still the 'best' one for the MS. Tested the alum on the rear of a horse trailer (5500 lbs minus gooseneck share) and it lifted both tires on one side. Was operating close to its intended limit but worked fine. Next time I'll jack under the axle in question which would be kinder on the jack. But for my next trip with the horse trailer the 30 pounder goes and the 75 pounder stays home. Note the full width roller on the alum.

Aluminum low-profile floor jack on super-sale at Harbor Freight which I could not resist at $69-US. My scale shows ~28 lbs plus 3 lbs for the 2 piece handle. You still need the piece of wood flooring as well as a scrap of plywood in case of soft earth. Rated at 1.5 Ton (3000 lbs). Very nice jack.

Went looking online and found three aluminum floor jacks at Harbor Freight, seemingly the same thing but different P/N. Plus price was $90 until I found the most recent flyer "catalog" with coupon for $70 through June.

Someone asked if they need AAA anymore if they have Tesla Roadside... Tesla Roadside, for example, doesn't cover towing if you are in an accident or if you run out of juice not due to a car failure. So keep your AAA!

I'm not sure, but I think Tesla Roadside would only tow you to a TM service center or maybe a supercharger or other authorized shop/location. AAA will tow you where YOU want/need to go. And with AAA+, they'll tow up to 150 miles for free (YMMV). That's assuming they can find a flatbed operator willing to tow the Model S.

There is a document called "Roadside Assistance Coverage" that describes what situations Tesla roadside will tow.... accidents are not one of them. Earlier this year I was in an accident with the Tesla and they would not tow me. I still had my AAA so I used that to get the car to the Service Center. I was 8 miles from the service center. You can get the document from your Delivery Specialist or the Service Center probably has it too.

It does not say anything about aftermarket wheels.
