I’m trying to decide whether to order the Modern Spare tire kit for my MYP. In the past I drove an M3 and just kept an extra wheel/tire in my garage figuring I could flatbed the car home if I’m local and swap tires at home. But with the MYP I would have to purchase both front and rear tires to do this so I’d rather not go that route.
I have the OEM Ubertine wheels with the Michelin Pilot 4 AS tires. I know they have pretty thin sidewalls so I’m concerned about getting a flat tire on a road trip where I’m too far away from home to flatbed the car. I do keep the Platinum AAA membership for emergencies. So a few questions for the community:
1) Did you purchase a spare, and do you keep it with you at all times or only for long trips?
2) Have you experienced flats on the 21” MYP tires?
3) If you got a flat and used Tesla Roadside Assistance did they have a spare tire that works on the MYP, or is their universal tire OK to use on this setup?
Thanks!
