An update on this one: In the middle of last week, the business in Ravensthorpe that hosted this charger suddenly decided they didn't want it anymore and disconnected it/powered it off.
This ordinarily wouldn't be an issue, given that the WA EV Network chargers are coming online at a rapid pace, but the WA EV site at Ravensthorpe has been sitting, installed, unpowered, waiting for Western Power to do their thing, for over 6 months. Ravensthorpe sits 188 km west of Esperance, and 114 km east of Jerramungup, which are the next closest WA EV sites.
The TOCWA/AEVA WA gang jumped into action, negotiated another site during the week, and today they drove to Ravensthorpe - which is 500 km from Perth, mind you! - picked up the unit, and delivered it 80 km further along the highway to it's new home - which will be at the Munglinup Roadhouse.
I'm not sure of the status at this minute, the installation will probably be ongoing tomorrow
But pics were shared today of the AEVA National President (who is Perth based) among others, working on the digging and slab pour of the charger's new home!
It will be 22 kW DC (initially) - which is fine for less than a weeks notice! (And maybe indefinitely - for most of it's life at Ravensthorpe it was at 20 kW due to supply limitations, so this isn't really anything different)
After installation, it will be a 107 km gap to Esperance and 195 km to Jerramungup. When the WA EV site at Ravensthorpe finally comes online, it will be gaps of 107 km, 81 km, and 114 km.
A couple of the pics nicked from the FB post below, hopefully not giving away any secrets!
