So, I thought that I would drop photos of the first three WAEV charge sites when heading in from NT.

This is Kununurra. I was the first person to charge here as far as I know. Oddly, the AC charger was not turned on.

This is Warmun Roadhouse. The DC was not yet commissioned, but the AC was on and responded to my RFID card.

Finally, this is Halls Creek. This one was still being wired up and I got to take a look inside the cabinet.

I am loving the curved roof, which both protects the equipment from the elements, as well as making the chargers really easy to spot from a distance.

Today I will look for the Fitzroy Crossing and Derby charge sites.

Great series of photos.

I renew my objection to critical infrastructure relying on an app.

EFTPOS please. Let the banks do what banks know how to do.
Not linked to today's problems in any way. All of these units have credit card readers. The sites couldn't communicate their status back to Chargefox. It wouldn't matter what your payment method was. App, RFID or debit/credit card would have had the same issue - there have been quite prominent issues with card payment terminal systems in the past. At least with app or RFID they could have free-vended (which I believe happened in this case), stored your session details locally and charged to your account later on. I can't see a credit card provider doing that (and as to whether it can be stored locally, I'm not sure, but recording credit card details on a storage system in an unmanned, remote location sounds rife with issues).
