Does Tesla want to sell CPO's??

Good luck. The current market is about $10k-$15k higher than that.

IMO..
I'd strongly disagree from what i'm seeing
in regards to the selling price of P85D insane mode PRIVATE PARTY cars. You can ask any price you want...... but if looking to sell very hi 70's seems to be the market. Many factors involved. No AP 2 retro being one.

Tesla CPO cars are a different thing and pricing seems to be all over the map., i doubt on a strictly CASH buy price their paying anything more than 70k which makes sense since making a deserved profit just like any business.
With a trade they can pretty much show you any number they want to make you feel good just like any other car dealer. You also have newer versions of MS that owners are moving into via trade. I'm seeing more running around auctions lately. Also buying from pvt party you aren't getting cpo benefits (unless you pony up out of pocket 4k) so obviously price will be less.

2 P85D sold on ebay in the last month for 80
i've been offered cars for 80k with under 20k on the dial
wholesale auction on p85d looks to be lower 70's currently.
p85d with ludacris maybe 84-85k max PVT party sale... maybe that's what you meant

A lot of helpful info here, thanks everyone. I have submitted some questions via email, and since I can't seem to get a call back, maybe some with experience can help me here.

If I put down the $1,000 on one, can I back out of it if the car is not right? Or do I lose my $1,000. Can I change cars if the car has some issues I don't know about? How much of a risk is it to put $1,000 on one?
I was told that I had 72 hours, but I would have to pick another CPO, or I would lose it. I asked for photos and they sent quite a few Cell phone quality photos for me to review. I had to remind myself, it is a used car, not a new car so there will be some normal wear and tear. All in all my DS in Colorado did a great job getting my car ready for me. Hope that helps.

I feel your pain about no communication, I posted about it in another thread. I was able to change my deposit to a different unit within a few days. I had the most luck with my local sales manager. If you have a store in your area I would go that route. Good luck, ordered on Dec. 19 and picked up just last Friday. Great car.

Not sure what's going on here, but the CPO rep for FL (Sean Bernardeau) was very quick to respond to my inquiries...
Did you actually go through the whole process and actually buy a car from him? He was very responsive for me as well, in the beginning. I guess eventually he lost interest. Never responded to my last two emails. Eventually I found a CPO in New York and bought it there. Couldn't have had a better experience.

Did your car have to be moved a long way? Did it need a lot of work? I reserved just today and she quoted end of March. But I was hoping that was an outside date and I would get it sooner. Although mine has to be moved probably 600 miles.

Yes, Sean answered all of my inquires throughout the entire process. Did everything up to the point of actually taking possession of the car through him.

It had to be shipped from CA to UT (700 miles). The car was just sitting in the Bay area most of the time not being touched due to the fact they were so busy. The car was in good condition and the certification was done locally in two to three weeks. But it would have just sat there longer if it was not for the sales manager putting in a shipping order to get it up here.

I've been dealing with the CPO specialist I started with, who has been really helpful so far. Luckily my car is in Tennessee, which hopefully won't be as bad as California. I'm assuming it's in Nashville, since that's the only store and service center in the state. Should I maybe wait a week from the reservation date and call her to see if the transport has started yet? Get her to poke things if it hasn't to maybe avoid the car sitting with no action? Should I wait longer before asking?

New guy here. Been researching for months; test drove locally and almost pulled the trigger on new; but I think CPO is the route we are going to go. More bang for our price range.

Bumping this thread to get it back up top. Would like to hear more feedback on people's CPO experiences or further updates on those who posted in this thread.:)

There's one there now for $78.5k, added way back in November. P68539...
85 kWh Performance Model S 5YJSA1H20FFP68539 | Tesla

Yes, and as I pointed out just up there ^^^ in post #25, there are always big differences in options, namely not having the rare Performance Plus suspension.. this one also doesn't have:
  • Pano Roof
  • Subzero
  • 21" Wheels
  • Ultra Hi-fi
  • 2nd charger
  • Ludicrous Mode
  • Next gen seats
  • Premium Upgrade package
It's also (IMHO) a really boring color combo: Silver Metallic with Grey leather.... can you say YAWN!

No wonder it hasn't sold.
