We'll have more pictures and video later, but here are forty Teslas gathered together for the Tesla Supercharger Grand opening at Rayzor Ranch. We were joined by Chris Watts, Denton's Mayor, Phil Williams from Denton Municipal Electric, Lori Clark from North Central Texas Council of Governments and Udeme Umana from Tesla Motors to celebrate the opening and cut the ribbon.

You might also want to check-out NBC 5 (WXAS) at 6pm tonight for their coverage.

Very cool! Just saw the clip online, they messed up on the charging time though! :( an hour? Really?
The part they didn't pick up on was that on a trip you don't normally do a full charge on an inter-day stop, so typically the charges are 15 minutes or less (during the summer, longer during the winter as you need a greater margin). They also didn't get the number of Superchargers right. Still, they came pretty close considering today's reporting standards.

Exactly. Yeah, it was still nice of them to cover the event though.

Yes, it was nice to get at least a bit of free TV coverage, sort of the best non-paid "product placement" advertising.
It makes some people (more) aware that such a facility exists in the Metroplex, and that there is a viable market for up-scale EVs.
This Supercharger is in a great location, right next to the I-35 Interstate, brand new shopping center, right in the center, close to many other amenities

Even with the couple of factual errors in the report, at least the story makes the point that electric cars are growing up a bunch and are committed to building out the necessary infrastructure to support the cars.

Kudos to Tesla Supercharger team for getting this key Supercharger installed and operational.
South Texas S60 owners now have a connection to the rest of the SpC Network.

And with St. Patrick's Day just around the corner, Reddy may soon start asking for this year's Parade participants in Shamrock.

Here's our highlight video prepared by stevejust from yesterday's Official Ribbon Cutting at the Denton Supercharger at Rayzor Ranch. We were so pleased with the excellent turnout of forty Teslas (give or take), plus support from the City of Denton, Rayzor Ranch and Tesla Motors.

Much thanks to our honored guests for sharing their time and comments:
- Chris Watts, Mayor, Denton, Texas
- Phil Williams, General Manager, Denton Municipal Electric
- Lori Clark, Principal Air Quality Planner, North Central Texas Council of Governments
- Udeme Umana, Tesla Motors

Fantastic video. Thank you so much for sharing the excitement and to those who made the Denton Supercharger a reality.

The gaps are filling in rapidly with three major east-west routes on the map. Looking forward to travel to PA and FL later this year. Remarkable progress for Tesla Motors and all the owners of Model S and X. Texas is always a friendly state to visit. Thanks to everyone who is making Texas EV friendly as well.
