The insurance crisis in California is deepening at a time when homeowners in the state are becoming more vulnerable to the risk of extreme weather events—such as wildfires, which have always been common in the state but are expected to become more frequent and more severe as a result of global warming.

A new review of literature on global climate change written by an international team of more than 200 researchers leaves no room for doubt: humanity is heading for disaster, unless significant steps are taken to change that course.

How disastrous? The research team mentions trillions of US dollars in climate-related damage, billions of people pushed into hardship around the world, and millions of lives lost as a result of a rapidly warming planet.

To this concern I wish to report this article where the Special Presidential Envoy for Climate John Kerry calls the Climate Change issue a weapon of mass destruction.

The North Atlantic sea surface temperature has been at record warm levels for an entire year now, setting daily record highs every day for 365 consecutive days.
This means that the Energy Imbalance caused by the GHE and the decreasing Albedo is increasing more and more. As we know 93% of the Energy Imbalance is absorbed by the Oceans.
I invite all TMC Members to watch the reported video.

As the global sea surface temperature set a new record high on Monday at 21.17C following months of above-average temperatures, scientists are raising the alarm about a potential fourth mass coral bleaching event.

Speaking with Reuters, the coordinator of the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) Coral Reef Watch Derek Manzello said it was likely that the entire Southern Hemisphere would experience bleaching this year.

The Arctic could have summer days with practically no sea ice within the next decade due to emissions from burning fossil fuels, a study has found.

This would transform the unique habitat, home to polar bears, seals and walruses, from a “white Arctic” to a “blue Arctic” during the summer months, scientists said. The calculation used for “ice free” means less than 1m sq km, in which case the Arctic would be mostly water.

The biggest long-term effect of warming in the Arctic will be sea level rise, Oscar Schofield, a professor of biological oceanography at Rutgers University, told ABC News.

Sea level rise from melting and continued climate change will exacerbate coastal erosion, flood areas that had previously never seen flooding and even increase inland flooding as the salty ocean waters change groundwater tables and inundate freshwater resources, Twila Moon an Arctic Scientist said.

Are you frightened by climate change? Do you worry about what sort of world we are bequeathing to our children and grandchildren? In the words of science writer and author of “The Uninhabitable Earth” David Wallace-Wells, “No matter how well informed you are, you are surely not alarmed enough.”

I would put it even more strongly.

If the fracturing of our once stable climate doesn’t terrify you, then you don’t fully understand it. The reality is that, as far as we know, and in the natural course of events, our world has never — in its entire history — heated up as rapidly as it is doing now. Nor have greenhouse gas levels in the atmosphere ever seen such a precipitous hike.

Since he was a kid in the 1970s, Mark Z. Jacobson has been focused on solutions to prevent the damage caused by burning fossil fuels, first in relation to lethal air pollution and later on climate change. Fifteen years ago, based on a foundation of research he had begun a decade earlier, Jacobson and Mark A. Delucchi developed A Plan to Power 100 Percent of the Planet with Renewables (2009). Jacobson subsequently co-founded (with financier Marco Krapels and anti-fracking activist Mark Ruffalo) The Solutions Project in 2013. This was followed in 2015 with an article written by Jacobson, Delucchi, and other team members in the peer-reviewed journal Energy & Environmental Science titled “100% clean and renewable wind, water, and sunlight (WWS) all-sector energy roadmaps for the 50 United States.” It outlined a path for all 50 states to be 100% renewable by 2050. In 2017, a Jacobson-led team produced another study, “100% Clean and Renewable Wind, Water, and Sunlight All-Sector Energy Roadmaps for 139 Countries of the World.”

The promise of a climate-friendly, renewables-powered world is encouraging. But, as noted, Jacobson’s blueprint is technological. What can be done depends on a political blueprint as well. Something full-blown but flexible. Like, say, a version of the Green New Deal.

So we have a Global Temperature Deviation of about 1.8°C for February 2024.
Made a rapid calculation. This means that while the Global Temperature Deviation for last 12 months was 1.56°C now the Global Temperature Deviation for last 12 months is about 1.61°C!

This is really worrisome. So please don't look up this post.

RECORD LAST 6 MONTHS TEMPERATURE DEVIATION Sept. 2023 to Feb. 2024 +1.65°C
NASA Source

This is compatible with RECORD LAST 12 MONTHS GLOBAL TEMPERATURE DEVIATION +1.61°C that I calculated.

Once again WE HAVE OVERTAKEN THE THRESHOLD OF 1.5°C FOR THE GLOBAL TEMPERATURE DEVIATION SET BY THE AGREEMENT OF PARIS!

THIS IS A RED CODE ALERT FOR MANKIND!

AN UNPRECEDENTED ACTION HAS TO BE TAKEN BY THE UN TO WORK OUT THE CLIMATE CHANGE ISSUE IMMEDIATELY IMO!
