"Brand New" Model Y Performance Blue paint quality issues

Picked up on 7/28. I should have known Tesla quality was lacking, to be honest I didn't inspect the car in delivery because I didn't think I had to in a new car!! Wth lol.
Told Tesla and they gave me an appointment 3-4 weeks out and told me to submit it through the app.

Pretty disappointed I don't even want to drive the car I feel like this paint might not even last 1 year if its looking like this. I've actually kept the car in my garage and almost afraid to move it smh.

Background I've owned 14 cars give or take and this is my first time I feel like I regret my purchase. Some of the cars ive owned no particular order (17 BMW 340i, 08 Lexus is350, 01 Chevy Corvette, 02 Pontiac Trans am, 04 Saab 9-3)

Right, so it needs some paint love. Tesla will address it. What’s that got to do with driving it? It’s going to get chips and dings from regular daily use anyway, or was this supposed to be your ice cream car?

Part of the paint issues with Fremont cars is your state’s regulations on such. Heck, in California even the avocados carry ‘this product could cause cancer’ stickers.

Just go drive the car and use it as it’s intended to be used.

I know, I guess it comes down to my previous experiences, I guess the paint is so thin it concerns me, I had a 08 BMW 535i that the paint was better than this car so it does bother me on the overall quality. In my eyes, if the paint is this bad, what else can I expect from the car?

I’ve had my Model 3 for over 5yrs and 98,000 miles. You can expect your vehicle to be great as mine has been.

Since how the vehicle looks is a high criteria for you, I suggest once Tesla fixes the issues that you take it to a high end detailer and get PPF on it and then ceramic the whole car. I had that done on mine and highly recommend it. Makes it soooo easy to wash but also provides excellent protection from chips and scratches.
