Auto-tilt mirrors disabled

Was wondering if anyone in the community finds the auto-tilt side view mirrors more of a hindrance than a convenience when backing up? I've always had this feature enabled in other vehicles I've owned, and thought it was a cool idea. For me, when reversing out of a parking space or garage, I find I need the complete view; left, right, and rear-view mirror in addition to the cameras. With the mirrors in auto tilt setting, you lose visibility on the left- and right-hand side of the vehicle, which is absolutely critical in tight spaces. I know that this feature is supposed to help avoid curbing your tires, but we have the front fender cameras for that purpose. I've concluded that I don't need that redundancy and have set the auto tilt feature to OFF. Has anyone else experienced this? Your comments would be appreciated.
