Roamer: So glad to hear it. Your patience has been rewarded.

Any notable differences in the fit and finish between the two? Operationally, etc? Just curious since they have (assumedly) different build timeframes.

Probably built at the same time then held up for reworks.

Only bug so far is left falcon does not like to latch closed. Have to give it a gentle push to finish the close.

@Reeler so sorry for your lengthy delay. At least your X is in Denver getting prepped which is closer than Fremont! Still want to see your showing to other members once you get accustomed to your car. I still haven't seen a single X on Denver streets but have seen 3 deliveries to the Leetsdale prep store, including a black P90 a few days ago, VIN 94X. The pipeline is widening...

Very sorry to hear it. Hope you're not terribly disappointed. I nearly gave your post a thumbs-down, but realized that wasn't right!

Haven't connected with my DS to know exactly what parts were needed and how long the delay will be. Almost 3 months now since my Model X was built and waiting.

I am glad I broke down and bought a Nissan Leaf to drive while I waited for this car. I would have been more pissed off otherwise.

I will still do a demo day if folks in Denver are interested. I was starting to figure that most would see or have their car delivered before I received mine.

@Reeler, it looks like we might be competing to have the very last US Signature delivery.

It is frustrating to know that I could have gotten our car faster with a regular production reservation with only a $5K deposit, and left the other $35K invested in TSLA. Also, with a production model, I would not have been forced into the performance version, which I would rather not have taken, since range is more important to us.

I'm still a major believer in the mission of Tesla, but I'm feeling just rather burned on how we've been treated like mushrooms in this whole Signature process.

Looking at the stock price lately, you may have done better putting money into the car. I think the stock price is a reflection of the fact that Tesla fanboys cannot keep reality away from bungled launch after bungled launch. Imagine if Chevy did something like this--there would be no tolerance for it.

That said, I will put a deposit down on a Model 3 unless it looks horrid.

I finally got mine yesterday. Vin S00422. Not super happy. Many interior and exterior imperfections: scuffs, scratches, cracks. This should not happen in a $150k car. Hopefully they'll be able to rectify it all when I take it back to them. But it still stinks after being months delayed in order to "ensure it's perfect".

Wow. Definitely hope they make this right (I'm pretty confident they will). But I agree, it's unacceptable delivery condition especially as late as it is.

Very sorry to hear it and good luck; keep us informed.

@jshnyc, wow, that is just not right. It really makes me worry about our Sig VIN#484 that we are still waiting for. We've been given the same line from our DS that they just want to make sure it is perfect, though we still have no delivery date yet, other than an assurance that we will have it by the 31st.

I hope that at least the functionality of your X is flawless, so that you can finally enjoy driving it around.

I would be similarly concerned given our experience this weekend.
We configured the same day as you, Sig VIN 535. Went through production early December and told to expect factory pickup late December. Delayed again and again, given the same story about wanting perfection. Finally during the week it was ready, Friday evening pickup.
As we walk up to the car we hear loud beeping coming from the car every 10 seconds.
"Driver assistance features unavailable" was the error message. "Don't worry" we were told, "that is just because it is plugged in" is what the delivery specialist said. We go through the car, continuing to beep every 10 seconds.
I note the milage... 49 miles. One more mile and it isn't new any more. They literally couldn't do any more fixes or it would hit 50. I didn't want to wait though, as I wanted the CA $2500 that is about to go away.
The DS drove the car around the front, and gave us the keys and left. It was still beeping every 10 seconds so the DS obviously knew the car had issues still but didn't care to correct his earlier statement.
All the way home loud beeping every 10 seconds and of course no cruise control or anything.
I noticed that the electrical conduit between the rear view mirror/AP had obviously already been replaced as there were marks on the windshield from a previous conduit run.
The next day I took it straight to the service center and left it there. They had no loaners but gave me a lift home. They expect it to take a week to fix. So now we are back to no X.

The way I see it they likely couldn't get the hardware fixed despite 49 miles of testing and replacing the AP hardware a few times... So they had to give it to us and get it fixed later... And we had to accept it then if we still want the government rebate. I guess they have one month more to get AP working (after spending the last 3 months on it) before it officially becomes a lemon.

Hopefully we will like the car after it stops beeping at us.

I know I said it upthread, but I'll say it again: no more Signature series, please!

A very unfair position that you were both put into (along with the other Sigs that have had issues). Please continue to push them to make this right. I think this end of quarter push is probably killing them, so I feel good about issues being resolved after April 1st.. if you're willing to wait that long. I delayed my delivery just to let them breathe a bit..

My agreement doesn't have any mention of 50 miles.

Yes, I also could not find any 50 mile reference in my agreement either. From what I can see of California law, the car is considered "new" until it has been first registered as sold with the DMV, no matter what the mileage.

@cantdecide, your story also worries me regarding the delivery of our Sig X. It is beginning to sound like a repeat of the Dec 31st rush to get cars out, which created such a production setback in the first place.

Hopefully we will get our Sig X soon, but hopefully with none of these problems.
