The Tesla MS is a road-trip car pure and simple. More than anything else that's what it does well. I never in a million years thought I'd put 7000 miles on it within the first three months.
Except it's $2500, not $500. It is $500 extra ($3000) if you don't purchase prior to delivery and decide to add it later.
My bad. Still relatively a good deal given an expensive car. I'd get it at delivery to save the $500.
That is exactly what I understand from the website and what the sales guy told me. I did not add auto pilot when i order my model S and now prior to delivery they want $2500 + $500 for adding auto pilot which totally contradicts whats on the website. Thats a big lie by tesla.
If anything, I expect the cost to activate the AP features to drop eventually, the same way Tesla rolled a lot of the Tech Package features into the base model. The hardware is already on the car, so they've already made the investment. They just need to suck me in later with a good price.
Uh yeah. Adaptive cruise is a must have.
