2022 M3 “Salvage”

I bought a 2022 M3 from an auction. Title is not salvage but Tesla has salvaged in their system. No warranty. Very little body damage. Tesla won’t tell me anything else except that I need to replace the battery. $14000.

When I first got the car, I was able to open the frunk with the 12v wire method. That let me jump the car which powered up the MCU. Lots of messages including software needing update. I did that and soon after I was seldom able to get the MCU to power up. I replaced the 16v LV battery but that didn’t make much difference.

The last time the MCU powered up, I got the attached messages.

Now, I’ve try to connect my laptop to the Ethernet port to see if I can try toolbox 3. The car won’t even respond over Ethernet (I’ve made sure all my Ethernet and browser settings are good).

Any direction at this time would be helpful. I bought this car as my first Tesla project but am having a hard time getting things going.

Anyone in Atlanta interested in coaching a newbie?
