Did anyone try retrofitting the refreshed 2021 Model S bumper on previous year models?
I need to get the front bumper on my 2017 model S replaced due to the damage. Checking if the new bumper can work as replacement

@tiburci - do you mind commenting on the price and whether you ran into structural and / or mechanical issues before deciding to scrap the front bumper refresh? Thank you!
My bumper got damaged in an accident and the body shop said there is a new autopilot sensor inside the 2021 bumper and because its a safety feature, it cannot be put on my 2018 model S.

I've pulled off both my 2016 (refresh) bumper and my 2022 S bumper. The attachments are different and it's clear the 2022 bumper will not just fit the older cars. The new bumper also includes the lower bottom frunk shield. I also think the new bumper is wider on the sides to match the wider fenders, but I didn't measure it. I can't say about an autopilot sensor as I didn't notice it. I only pulled the bumper off enough to replace the logo/slit with my light bar (see my avatar) and didn't disconnect the bumper's wiring harness.
