I'm not so sure. The short-term price action in TSLA is highly unpredictable and often counter-intuitive, to say the least.

It may be wise for short-term traders to wait until after 2Q17 earnings for the clouds to dissipate.

I agree with this.

VA - dark pools are off-market exchanges commonly used by large institutions to buy/sell with less overall effect on the given stock. Trades still get reported, but things like bids and offers in dark pools are obscured.

Got it, so you keep an eye on dark pools trading to estimate what large institutions may be doing vs. retail investors.

Me too. Suspicious here about shorts covering to prepare for another round later. I suppose it could just be shorts covering for the possibility of a big surprise on the ER.

Renaissance Tech got a hold of the bad earnings early. Trading algo causes a run-up which causes the false sense of good earnings. Algo goes short at the peak of the run-up. Earnings get released and the algo makes a killing in the subsequent crash.

Given the ATH of the macro market, high expectations for TSLA, and constant bashing of TSLA by specific media, I'm afraid the market psychology for TSLA may become bearish if ER is not *spectacular*, however way you want to interpret that. As a bull, it's safe to just bet long term. Nice articles by the way @ValueAnalyst. Good to see more common sense thinking than just trash talking by some mainstream media.

This seems more like a double bottom and an excellent place for a bounce
I totally think that TSLA has bottomed right here today and we go up starting tomorrow

How would SP react if the loss this quarter is somewhat small, say $500 million or less and Tesla's cash position was still $2 billion or more? Because I think that is a realistic possibility and I think stock would possibly rise in that scenario. I think I may buy back in to 100% today.

Looked at SP at 11am today. Was in the low 310s. Passed. Dang!
