Tesla's Supercharger Team was recently laid off. We discuss what this means for the company on today's TMC Podcast streaming live at 1PM PDT. You can watch on X or on YouTube where you can participate in the live chat.
This is kind of concerning. I live in Livermore and I think I’m mostly ok here. Wife drives the car mainly to work and is locked.
I planned on driving it sometimes however and I’m all over the South Bay. Do car seats make it harder to get the seats down and maybe deter someone from breaking...
You see so many in the Bay Area that they are nothing special anymore. I don’t blame people for buying them. Bay Area commute is hell now and a Tesla can make life much easier. Many people commute extreme distances too and a gas car would be replaced relatively quick. I think if I were to count...
You can try glue but that makes it way more permanent. I would use a heat gun and warm the tape up when you install new team. Then use masking tape to hold down the spoiler for a few hours. Hopefully that will get it to bond better
I had ordered my car with 19s too but they didn’t have a delivery update and was offered one with Aeros sooner. I just bought 20s from someone with no wear on them and sold my aero. Ended up being cheaper and I wanted the 20 all along. You might be able to find a 19 inch set and just sell your...
We got ours last night. Glad the wait is over! It’s a white on white made 3/26. No big flaws I could see or anything else that really bothers me as far as paint defects of panel gaps go. They brought the car to our house and the delivery process was smooth.
This is a good benefit of having a Tesla and I wish other manufacturers start installing cameras. My 3 month old navigator got door damage by someone on purpose. I had to pay a grand to get it repainted.
white on white delivery date is tomorrow but no vin or purchase contract yet. I live in the bay area and it is supposed to be a direct delivery from the factory. Doesn't look promising at this point. Getting sick of this whole thing at this point.
The bad thing is i paid for the whole thing...
Was able to get the delivery time changed to later in the evening and also go them to open up the payment portal so I could pay it off. Still no vin though. Hopefully the delivery date holds.
I have to give this a shot tomorrow. My local delivery place will be Fremont but by default it’s deliver at home since we live close by the Fremont plant
Can the delivery times be changed easily? I don’t know how they can expect someone to be home on a Friday at noon. Tried calling but can’t get through. I imagine they will have a busy week but hopefully they can deliver after work hours
I got a delivery date of March 29. Finally have something to go by. White on white rwd long range. I’m in the Bay Area so likely will just pick it up on the 30th.
I had a similar experience. Coming from luxury dealers, this experience has been something else. I originally ordered the SR+ but the sales associate I worked with convinced me the MR would come in the quoted time frame vs a lengthy wait for an SR+. I made the change and then no activity. The...
Is getting a text the first part in getting a delivery update? I’m not sure if I’m wasting my time logging into my account occasionally to see if I can make payment.
White interior is difficult across the board right now. I think everyone is waiting regardless of the configuration. I’m waiting on a white in white long range. I’m in the Bay Area and I called to see status for this month. They said currently I have no vin match or a delivery date. My guess is...
I would be upset, especially offering this late. My guess is your location. They likely can’t get you the car by month end and probably don’t care if you buy or not. I also feel they decided to wait to tell people in hopes of finding 2018 matches, customer buying a different version or...
I’m not surprised by your experience given how my ordering experience has gone so far. I think employees are basically acting like how they are valued. Tesla hopefully has a good car for us but this ordering experience has been anything but great. I got better treatment when I bought my first...
Well I guess I’m part of this wait group now. The mid range is indeed dead. They aren’t making anymore. Was given an option to get the long range for a grand more. White on white with 19 inch wheels. Hopefully the quoted 2 weeks holds now
I got the call too. Same deal as others reported. Got comped for the paint so $1000 more. Was told within 2 weeks. So let’s see if the time frame holds
I guess I’m waiting for this call now too. Everything is in limbo as none of the reps I’m working with can figure out a solution. My case has been escalated to the sales ops team....whatever that means.
The status of the order is tbd. That means there are no production plans for the car. More than likely everyone will have to change orders. The faster you do it I guess the better off you are.
I called and gave them an ultimatum on sorting it out. I’m honestly ready to cancel and just buy an A5 sportback. I never had to put this much work into buying a car. The funny thing in all of this is the configuration I was told to get for quickest delivery is the model that no one knows...
This helps a lot. I’m glad I upgraded to the mid range (hopefully I get the car). If I have to change my order, I don’t think I’ll go with the SR + anymore.
I know the white interior is taking longer at the moment but are any white on white orders being filled right now.
If my midrange order really is going to be canceled, my choice after the long range rwd would be the performance. The normal awd does me no good in California and I would rather...
My rep screwed me over by convincing me to switch to the mid range to get it within 2 weeks. Now it seems like I won’t get any faster if at all. This was my configuration too. I hope they can put me back in my sr + order spot. I’m so sick of Tesla right now.
this is a bunch of bs if they really are cancelling or making you switch. I'm guessing you get put back in line too? Im sick of having to call in for every little bit of info. One of the worst experiences buying something of need.
I’m not surprised. Maybe I ordered at the wrong time but this experience hasn’t been great. No one knows what is going on in with this company. Hardly assuring when buying a car. I gotten better service when I bought a Honda Civic than this.
Last minute orders hopefully doesn’t mean less...
I called the Fremont delivery center go get an update. I was told the white interior is not in production and hasn’t been in some time. I don’t think it’s a priority for them and I think it explains the long waits. I’m not sure if they will make them in a big batch or we aren’t getting cars for...
I’m going to try a few jobs in my wife’s car once we get our 3. Ideally I want one for my second commute car too. With the gas savings, it can pay for itself front my mileage reimbursement. I racked up miles on my old E class and it wasn’t fun to pay for the maintenance. I currently have a brand...
As far as interior goes, I don’t know long term but the Tesla’s are on par with the mid range car for luxury brands. The C class is a cut above but the a4 and the older 3 series is similar in quality and features. The larger flagships are a different story. That’s where the X and S can’t compete...
We are getting the model 3 for my wife and I plan to drive it a few times to see how it works. An EV will actually make me money as I get paid for miles driven. Just the charging stuff has me worried. I’m the type of person that pays more for gas vs waiting in line for cheaper prices.
I wish they had more of a hot rod, Ferrari red option. I love the red in certain lights and in others it looked too dark. We wanted to go with red for our next car but the shade wasn’t what we had in mind.
Kind of off topic but stuff like this is what makes an EV not worthwhile for me. I’m an auditor and don’t have a set commute daily. Sometimes I drive more than 200 miles a day, other times I have to stay out. I’m not sure how often I would be willing to wait to charge my car. It’s like going to...
I have the same order and posts like this make me worry. I don’t know how I can be assured a within 2 week delivery when you have been waiting months. The white interior is definitely the holdback. They been telling me North America cars are now the aim and Tesla was not making any cars for us...
