PSA - small dents on all brand new Model Y hoods

I had the same issue and was able to adjust things to where it is ok, not perfect. The dents closest to the edge never really disappear and in fact the sun was just right today where they became very noticeable and annoying to me. I asked them to fix the remaining dents but they did not do...

2021 Model Y front bumper pearl white

Took a gamble on better color matching, which shows more when you go with satin PPF (read that fact on here but chose to ignore it). The new bumper is a bit better but not as good as I was hoping for. Probably wouldn’t do it again given the expense and randomness of Tesla bumper colors...

2021 Model Y front bumper pearl white

I have a nearly new model Y front bumper in pearl white. It was wrapped in satin Xpel stealth. The bumper was on the car for less than 1000 miles. It is currently located at the Carlesbad, CA location. I am looking for $400 as it costs $900+ (without install) and the PPF was another $850...

What Tesla’s ‘Delivery Logistics Hell’ Is Like for Model 3 Buyers

I declined two deliveries already. The second one was assigned the day after but now haven’t heard anything for a week. The risk I run is that I don’t get one that is acceptable before the end of the year. I am told they have over 1k Model 3 orders in the queue at my location, so it is going...

Checked out my P3D two days before delivery: It's flawless

I am jealous. I declined my second P3D+ VIN today. They reschedule very quickly, so I expect a third attempt next week. I will probably do what you did and try to inspect it before the date to speed things up if needed.

    Performance Upgrade Price Change!

Exactly, and there are so many other examples. This is a really bad decision, resulting in an avalanche of unhappy customers because their name isn’t Fred and they can’t cry to Elon when these types of things impact them. I want my money from the price drop on the 90D that happened 1 week...

New Delivery - Bad Paint Job - Opinions

I would push harder for a new car. First, to do a full repaint correctly they will have to dissemble the entire car, including removing all glass (roof, front, rear, etc), seals, etc. Your interior will be fully exposed to the dust in the body shop, dust from sanding your entire car, along...

    First World Problems Extraordinaire

They usually do cover gas, unless they changed their policy for the Model 3 but I haven't heard of any change. You just need to keep your receipts.

Marina del Rey CA-Delivery Location - QC wait times - Aug 2018

Be thankful your delays are before you took delivery. I took delivery in January and still don’t have my car. I am declaring it their car at this point.

    Palm Springs service center delivery

You don't enjoy the wonderful rock quarry blowing acidic dust on all the cars at the San Diego service center? That stuff mixed with the eucalyptus trees will destroy windows and paint.
  11. J

Refused M3 delivery Marina Del Rey

Good call on refusing delivery, you probably would have had a long and painful repair process if you took delivery. The car likely went to the next in line.

So I Have To Pay Another $2500 by July 1 to Avoid Annual Internet Charges?

Sorry for the late reply, it is a Jan 2018 build and has been in service since Jan 2018.

    Tesla "Service Hell"

Good, well not good, to hear others in similar situations. My car has been in service since January 30th with a 'possible' end in sight in the next couple of weeks, but we have been here before. Escalations don't work anymore in Tesla, they are just way too busy now.

So I Have To Pay Another $2500 by July 1 to Avoid Annual Internet Charges?

Same with me and I have been through hell with my first Model 3. My wife doesn’t understand why I would even consider ordering another one...psychology of free stuff is a strange thing.

Model 3: My car is in the shop on day 2

Try having your car in service since January. I honesty forgot that I own a Model 3, not even sure how it drives yet. Bright side is I have put 6k miles on a loaner and enjoyed free supercharging since then. My insurance will also be super low since they think I don't drive at all, although I...

    So sick of the negativity

I am one of the ones who has posted what I think you are referring to as a negative story, only because it is true. My car has been in service for months now. Am I picky, yes I am. Do I expect perfection, absolutely not. Have I bought many other cars without any of these issues, absolutely...

Buyer beware. Buying a CPO Tesla feels like a SCAM.

I talked to service about this example. They said they would take care of the headliner and other major issues, noting it isn't good for customer satisfaction to let it go given how bad and unexpected the issues are (they may be busier than normal dealing with unsatisfied used customers in the...

Buyer beware. Buying a CPO Tesla feels like a SCAM.

I currently have a long term loaner for several months and take good care of it thinking about the CPO buyer down the road. I heard a story about a brand new S loaner with less than 100 miles on it coming back for the service center completely trashed with items that can not be described on...

Buyer beware. Buying a CPO Tesla feels like a SCAM.

Ok, well as of less than a year ago it was true at my local service center. Given the service centers often have to figure this stuff out on their own, maybe they didn’t figure it out yet or the protocol has changed.
  20. J

Buyer beware. Buying a CPO Tesla feels like a SCAM.

Yes, he is very nice and had helped me in many ways. I haven’t had your experience (other than the myriad of replacements) and have a hard time believing he would personally do that, but sorry to hear that. Did you talk to the regional maager about your concerns? Things have happened that I...

Buyer beware. Buying a CPO Tesla feels like a SCAM.

Sorry to hear this. That car needs more than detailing in my opinion, headliner replacement is in order. Unfortunately they have to remove the front window to do that. Unfortunate that the service manager isn’t very nice. The manager here in San Diego is incredibly nice and wouldn’t blink...

Poll: have you had issues with your 3?

Haven’t seen my Model 3 in over 7 weeks since it lives at the service center. Last time I saw a Model 3 was at the supercharger when someone else had one. He was excited about it saying he had no issues at all, but it was riddled with cosmetic issues. I think most just don’t look at details...

For owners of the 3. How many miles do you currently have? (and how many problems?)

Sure, will do. I talk to my service manager more than my wife, so no problem there.
  24. J

For owners of the 3. How many miles do you currently have? (and how many problems?)

I haven't even had the chance to use the lights. I sure hope mine doesn't do that cause I am also very sensitive to high pitched noises (still remember when I got rid of the old tube TV and replaced with flat screen...no more high pitched hum).
  25. J

For owners of the 3. How many miles do you currently have? (and how many problems?)

Definitely look for the issues and don't let them push you into taking delivery if you are concerned. I was told they are all different and unique in their own way. I would also not let them state that things are by design. If you have questions, get them to bring the lead Model 3 service...

For owners of the 3. How many miles do you currently have? (and how many problems?)

It was incredible to watch online, couldn't imagine in person.
  27. J

For owners of the 3. How many miles do you currently have? (and how many problems?)

Yes, I am critical but none of the issues were questioned one bit. All are fit/finish issues or damaged parts. It literally took a few minutes to review all issues with them and agree upon fixes. Again service is as good as it can be. I have posted many pictures on Reddit and here showing...

For owners of the 3. How many miles do you currently have? (and how many problems?)

2 weeks and about 100 miles, haven't been able to use it since delivery due to body panels rubbing. Things being corrected: - Adjusting all doors including hood and rear hatch. So far looking really good. - Replacing A pillar covers - Replacing dashboard - Replacing steering wheel - Replacing...

My first few days with the 3...

Interesting you noted the random clunking noise when parked in the garage. I just asked the service manager about that, but the 3 is still so new to them they don't know what is normal. Sounds like it may be normal.

    Pictures of production Model 3s

Trade? Damage to the front. There were gouges in the bumper that were filled in with touch up or putty of some sorts. The fender was bent up on one side as well. You could see under the fender when looking from the side.

Unfinished metal and glue seen around front windshield, normal???

That doesn't look good either. However, I do notice the A pillar panel trim extends to the window unlike mine. You can check out my panel alignment on Reddit. https://i.redd.it/3m6ziqea6bc01.jpg

Unfinished metal and glue seen around front windshield, normal???

Pictures have been sent to HQ already, along with many other pictures. Every piece of feedback goes to development. Tesla is working to make things right, but I was looking for feedback to see if this is common at all in case they say there is nothing they can do for this particular issue...

Unfinished metal and glue seen around front windshield, normal???

I have yet to ride in another one, so nothing to compare to...why I asked the question. This is from the inside looking out. I simply grabbed a quick shot when the sun was hitting it. It disappears when the sun isn't at the right angles.

    Pictures of production Model 3s

Yes, service center has submitted all necessary pictures of this and many other things to headquarters. Note that this is my second delivery attempt and why the push back on losing my place in line. This one looks perfect compared to the last one. The good news is it sounds like it is easy to...

Unfinished metal and glue seen around front windshield, normal???

One of the many issues I have reported is a very unfinished view out the front windshield. You can see rough metal and glue globs when the sun shines on the sides of the window. Does anyone else get this. Note that I spotted this within 30 seconds of driving the car, so it is easy to see.
  36. J

    Pictures of production Model 3s

Unfortunately yes. Long story short, if I didn't take delivery they would have removed me from the delivery queue and I would have had to start all over again. There are many other issues that they have submitted for approval to resolve.

Change from alcantara to cloth on PUP???

Definitely not a fan of the new "premium textile", already having pieces replaced. I expect to have more replacements as time goes on, just very fragile. Not anything like the quality of the "premium textile" in my Audi. Also, I can see the glue/metal bars around the front window because the A...

21" Arachnid Wheels $3500, delivered to any service center

I just received an email to order the 21 inch arachnid wheels for the Model S. I believe they are silver only. I am able to select any service center for delivery and install, so thought I would post this before I select my local service center.

Change from alcantara to cloth on PUP???

Yes, at least for now. I wouldn't be surprised if it changed though in the near future.
  41. J

Change from alcantara to cloth on PUP???

Exactly. My delivery contact was willing to put in writing that I was to receive the exact same alcantara/suede material in the delivered vehicles. He said there is one and only one build configuration for the interior and all materials are exactly the same. Well, until I informed him that is...
  42. J

Change from alcantara to cloth on PUP???

I guess I am supposed to laugh, but I don’t get it. Just trying to help people see what they will get since we are all going in blind. The more you know about the latest build config the more prepared you will be. I expect more changes and will try to update when possible.
  43. J

Change from alcantara to cloth on PUP???

Here is the material in sunlight, taken through the side window outside. Looks like a sock to me.
  44. J

Change from alcantara to cloth on PUP???

No, they are using the left over black Alcantara for the doors in the current vehicles, unless they already ran out.
  45. J

Change from alcantara to cloth on PUP???

It was there on the ones I saw that had textile headliners (and the oddly mixed alcantara visors). The inside sales only knows about the headliner change, but of course we are the ones to inform them of that change.
  46. J

Change from alcantara to cloth on PUP???

Does anyone think the alcantara on the Model 3 doors will go away soon as well? If Tesla is truly moving away from all alcantara, then it seems that would be the next near term change. I have no idea what would go in its place.
  47. J

Change from alcantara to cloth on PUP???

What the heck. The one I saw had full alcantara visors, yours is one step closer to all textile.
  48. J

Change from alcantara to cloth on PUP???

Well, I have photos to prove it changed. It is definitely cloth now other than the visors that are still suede material. Very strange mixture.
  49. J

Change from alcantara to cloth on PUP???

@stevejust They would not have refused to change the lights out for me, I guarantee it. Tesla has bent over backward for me through a not so fun experience, why I haven't ran away screaming. They will do almost anything to make customers happy in the end.
