What do you do with your house keys (for those that use their phone as a car key)?

I have V limited (if any) DIY skills! You unbox it, select your backplate (based on the type of lock), attach the backplate (mine is one that secures to the protruding part of the lock) and then clip the actual Nuki smart lock to the backplate. Job done.

    Can’t do it anymore. ☹️ https://9to5mac.com/2022/06/08/ios-16-homekit-hubs/

What do you do with your house keys (for those that use their phone as a car key)?

Hmm 🤔 I don’t see those options. Maybe I need to create an automation for it? I also can’t find a way to use my 12.9” iPad Pro as a hub. App tell me I need an Apple TV or a HomePod…

What do you do with your house keys (for those that use their phone as a car key)?

So not so much HomeKit, but Siri Shortcuts seems to offer what you want (assuming you’re on iOS).

Found it. It was in Siri Shortcuts. 🤦🏻‍♂️

What do you do with your house keys (for those that use their phone as a car key)?

There is definitely a “Connects to wifi“ option in HomeKit, I saw it earlier. I may give that a test while wife is out!

What do you do with your house keys (for those that use their phone as a car key)?

Interesting, I noticed it didn’t have the “Open Door” option, but you’re saying that Unlock in Homeki, is actually the equivalent of the Open Door button on the Nuki app?

What do you do with your house keys (for those that use their phone as a car key)?

Your last point is a great one. She’s not into smart tech as much as I am, so if HomeKit means she doesn’t have to deal with “another app”, that’s a win. Can you elaborate on how HomeKit could eliminate the Nuki app for her? Having said that, she doesn’t use HomeKit now, so she’d have to lean...

What do you do with your house keys (for those that use their phone as a car key)?

My Pro 3.0 allows me to lock, unlock and open door, which is super cool (Also remotely, as it has WiFi built in). That’s why I’m wondering what HomeKit can offer over and above the Nuki app and if it’s even worth it. iOS Widget…

What do you do with your house keys (for those that use their phone as a car key)?

Hey all, I’m all up and running. 👏 One question though-is there any advantage with using HomeKit over the standard Nuki app? Cheers.

What do you do with your house keys (for those that use their phone as a car key)?

For those still awake… 😂 I’ve ordered a double entry (👀) Yale lock with anti snap et al, that also allows the locking and unlocking with a key already in the inside lock. That should do it. https://amzn.eu/d/evZQwYE

What do you do with your house keys (for those that use their phone as a car key)?

That’s a good point and one I hadn’t thought about, but if the Nuki has locked the door, it’s not an issue. Unless I’ve misunderstood?

I’ve just ordered one on a 30 minute delivery from Screwfix. https://www.screwfix.com/p/union-6-pin-thumbturn-euro-cylinder-lock-40-40-80mm-satin-nickel/4664g?ref=SFAppShare

I’m beginning to wonder if a simple thumb turn lock on the inside is a better option?

What do you do with your house keys (for those that use their phone as a car key)?

Thank you, what you suggested worked (kinda) 👀 The issues I have are… I still can’t operate the lock with a key from the outside (maybe that’s easily solvable by just getting a lock cylinder that allows this feature?) The lock is not locking. The Nuki certainly turns, but the lock doesnt...

It was indeed set to Lift Up Handle, so have changed it to Knob or Bar…

What do you do with your house keys (for those that use their phone as a car key)?

Same for me. Same again. I’m going to recheck that now. I’ve just discovered another issue. It appears this new cylinder does not allow you to open the door from outside with the key, when there is a key in the lock on the inside. 😳

What do you do with your house keys (for those that use their phone as a car key)?

Correct. It’s to turn the little grub screws on the base plate, so they grip on to the lock cylinder.

What do you do with your house keys (for those that use their phone as a car key)?

Update time… I have successfully installed the Nuki Smart Lock 3.0 Pro. However, unless I’m missing something, it’s useless from the outside, as when it unlocks it appears not to turn the key that last little bit that allows you to actually open the door. It certainly turns the key from...

What do you do with your house keys (for those that use their phone as a car key)?

So, we have what I now understand is called a Euro Cylinder Lock. We (I’m in the U.K) have 2 locks on our door. 1 is a simple key operated lock/unlock. The other is a handle that you lift after turning the key and it then engages hooks in the door that come out and hook over little bars in...

What do you do with your house keys (for those that use their phone as a car key)?

We had a moment yesterday, where we got home and realised neither of us had a house key on us. 🤦🏻‍♂️ It’s because we normally have a house key on our car keys, but now we‘ve got a Tesla and use the app to lock/unlock, it’s all a new routine. Im wondering what you do? Do you have a phone case...

Charging speed at a V3 charger (brand new Model Y, UK).

Hey all, Afree our home charger, I thought I’d whizz my wife’s new MY LR round to a local, supercharger site. The car had about 30% of charge left when I got there and plugged in and started initially at 180kwH, which I thought was a little slow? Anyway, I sat in the car for a few minutes...

    POD Point charger semi dead?

I actually just spoke to Pod-Point. I didn’t think it would be fruitful, but it kinda was. The lady reset the charger and we can now charge at 3.7kW as she suspects there may be a fault with the clamp on the unit in the garage, so at least we can charge in the interim. Its not an issue with my...

    POD Point charger semi dead?

Hi everybody, We’ve got a slightly strange problem and this seems to be the place to get help. I was power washing the driveway Saturday, and suddenly my wife came down to tell me that the house had lost power. (she was drying her hair at the time, and the hairdryer went off). I went to them...

[UK] How does my wife add her MYLR to her Tesla app (it’s a company car)?

Well,I don’t know what happened, but I went back and logged in to her app and the car was there! Next question if I may, how does she designate me as an approved driver, so that I can use the app (logged in as my own personal account)?

[UK] How does my wife add her MYLR to her Tesla app (it’s a company car)?

Hey gurus, My wife has just taken delivery of her Long Range Model Y and we’re obviously getting used to everything, but the one thing she really wants to enable, is access to the car via the Tesla app. We can’t work out how to do it, so all and any advice is most welcome. Cheers.
