Best way to keep AC on indefinitely?

I'm in the chocolate business. Sometimes I'll have my model 3 filled with product and chocolate doesn't like temperatures much over 70 degrees. Once in a while I'll have a show to do and I'll bring product home overnight and then do show next day and don't want to have to lug a lot of heavy boxes in and out of the house overnight to prevent melting risks.

The car will be plugged into the charger while this happens.

Whats the best 'mode' to keep the AC runnings at a set temperature 'indefinitely' and keep the doors locked. It looks like dog mode is the best, but I guess I'm stuck with the screen on all night? It will be parked in my driveway.

Auto Lock & Key Fob

Hi everyone,

I'm hoping someone can help me with an issue I'm having with my new key fob for my 2023 Tesla Model S. I've always used my phone as my key and have it set to autolock when I walk away. I prefer to keep my keys in the car, but since getting the key fob, the car won't autolock if I leave the keys inside.

I understand this is a safety feature to prevent locking the keys in the car, but does anyone know a workaround to leave the keys in the car and still have autolock work? Is there any special iPhone shortcut or something that can be done with the official Tesla or Tessie app?

Thanks in advance for your help!

2020 Model Y Which TPMS sensor

I have an MY which was delivered in July, 2020 (VIN 5YJYGDEE3LF020xxx) and I decided to purchase a set of new TPMS sensors online. After looking at both Tesla's parts catalog and various online sites, I became very confused as to which sensor to buy. Any thoughts on a reliable online vendor?

Tesla's parts catalog shows two sensors 1490701-00-D or -01-E and two end caps (black and silver?). Were the 2020 MYs outfitted with 433 MHz or Bluetooth sensors? Amazon has two vendors selling OEM Tesla sensors. One says that they fit a 2020 MY and the other says that they don't.

240V Outlet Install with a poorly placed main panel

I had an electrician come out today and quote me over $3000 for installing a 240V outlet in the garage.

I’m in a connected townhome and the panel is inside a storage closet at the rear of the house. He explained the quote was so high because he would have to drill through a lot of drywall and run a long cable.

Has anyone else run into this? I can probably get by with trickle from a 120 but I figured I’d see if someone else has figured this problem out.

  • Question
AC not blowing cold air/AC fault codes?

Hey!
My tesla started making a "gas" like noise from the ac system a few weeks ago and then it started to blow warmer and warmer air. I suspect a leak, but i haven’t really had the time to diagnose it properly. Today i did the AC/heater test in the service menu and this is the faults i got. Have anyone on here had the same codes?
Does the code THC_WO252_rfrgSuctPressLo mean low refrigerant pressure?
Thanks for replies in advance :)

HV Battery Replacement & Steering Column Issues

A few weeks ago my high voltage battery had issues and left me stranded. Thankfully it was under warranty and tesla towed my car and replaced the battery. When I picked up the car, it was clear to me that something else was wrong. In driving less than a mile, I could feel my car shake when I turned the steering wheel to the right. I messaged them right away and brought my car back for them to look at. My car did not have this issue prior to the battery being replaced. Now they are telling me that there is an issue with the steering column and will cost $5,000 to replace and its "wear and tear". Is it possible that replacing the HV battery messed up the steering column? Thank you for your help!

FSD doesn't enter/exit HOV lanes without disengaging in WA

Hi all - maybe my understanding is skewed here, but just bought a M3P with FSD (for $19,000 with 30k miles... but that's a different story) and noticed something:

In WA state, we have solid white HOV lines that do not break often (technically "allowing" an entry or exit). If I get the car into an HOV lane manually, when it is time to exit the highway the car will turn on the indicator, but not exit the lane, and just drive past the exit it is supposed to take.

Maybe this is a difference in law between states, but anyone else experience this behavior?

Red vrs yellow Brenbo Calipers

Putting Brenbo Calipers on my 2023 Tesla 3 with very dark green metallic PPF. Any opinions on yellow vrs red cover with Telsa v Brenbo in red letters? The dark green gas red T decals and red light covers but my mechanic says that the really is unique and with red lettering would look great and since the brakes are Brenbo, why hide it under the "Tesla" label?

Any thoughts?

  • Question
Stop music searches?

Is there a way to stop voice commands from defaulting to a Music search. When I try a voice command it doesn't understand (like "Go Home") the car interrupts whatever was playing and starts playing "Go Home" by Angel Olsen or whatever it thought I said. Would rather it only search for songs if I say "Play" first but, in the absence of that, if I could just disable that feature all together.

Question about connecting with anyone @ Tesla who may assist with purchase?

Began process on app after test drive in April. Was told not to stop at the lease calculator until I received a VIN. Didn’t make much sense, & thought I needed to proceed with application so I get in queue. However, the lease option/price literally changed a few days later, adding 4.8K to total price & limited how much I could put down by 2K. I screenshot the original application & then went into a showroom. The rep. saw the discrepancy & reached out to someone via email & said he’d get back to me within a few days. Since then, I stopped in multiple locations under the guise of doing a test drive just so I could discuss this with someone. No help yet, & it’s a little over two months. Not certain what happened with Tesla. Purchased a Model S in 2018, & very easy experience. Trying to keep frustration at bay, yet my EDD has been pushed to Sept. & the color has even changed on my app. Nevertheless, no one @ Tesla can assist. Any others have similar issues & if so, how’d you remedy it??

Safety measures from people stealing battery & other components

Hello!

I've heard from my neighbors that there are people around my area stealing "parts" of electric vehicles.
For reference, I park in my house, behind a gate, but no garage.

Last night, when I parked, the gate was open and about to close. I saw a guy in a car who noticed the open gate, and then pulled the reverse to check.
As soon as he noticed me, he continued going forward, but then he went around the house to check again.

I've called the police to let them know.

So my question is: what's the best safety measure in this situation?

I will leave of course sentry mode on, but I'm curious to know if there is a way for ill-intentioned people to steal components without triggering the alarm.
I suspect, if they unplug the 12V battery when sentry mode is on, alarm should trigger, right?

Is there something that I'm missing, or maybe, what would you do in this situation?

Thanks a lot for your time!

Error code charge port
Context:
Paar weken geleden en vandaag krijg ik de volgende error code CP_a054 en PCS_a022. Dit na het inbrengen van de tesla wallconnector gen 2 in de charge port. Laden lukt dan niet, wel als ik de mobile connector er in doe.

Vraag:
Eerst maar een SC afspraak starten hiervoor..

Seeking Advice on Purchasing Used Teslas

Hi everyone,

I'm planning to purchase a couple of used Teslas and could really use some guidance on a few concerns I have:

1. Supercharger Access: I know that any Model S with the 40kWh battery is blocked from using Tesla Superchargers. However, I'm uncertain about other models and configurations. Is there a reliable way to determine if a specific Tesla is blocked from Supercharger access? Any tips or resources would be greatly appreciated.

2. Battery Information: One of the Teslas I'm considering mentions in the description that it is “missing the battery.” The seller doesn't know which battery this refers to; it's simply what they were told when they received the car. How can I determine whether this is referring to the 12V battery or the main drive battery? (The screens all turn on and the center screen says it is a p85, my understanding is that would not happen if the drive battery was missing. I was also told that the 12V runs the screen so I am lost on this one)

3. VIN Information: If I have the VIN for the vehicles, would contacting Tesla directly provide any useful information (such as possibly the answer to my questions previous)? I'm specifically wondering if Tesla can give me a detailed history or status report on the car, and if so, what is the best way to request this information from Tesla?

Any advice, resources, or personal experiences you could share would be incredibly helpful. Thanks in advance for your help!

Best regards,
The Mad Mechanic Mike

Used Model 3

This is all new to me as a newbie Tesla owner of a model 3, it’s dated 2022 and done over 14800 miles so far.
The car will be 2 years old this coming September 2024, have checked history in app but nothing is showing.
So they say 2 year check of brakes plus cabin filters, I’m in the UK and will use the Northampton service centre centre so they can look and check over the car etc while doing the work required.
As anyone done this and what kind of costs are expected, Cheevely Ev do mobile work and does a lot more jobs on the car for the same cost.
Just a little confused what is best, as still under warranty until September 2026
