I've never even considered going that way...Google maps has it at 5 hr 44 min for that route, 20 min longer than the Gallup route. I'd say less time charging in Bluff, except that the charger there will only output 200A, so good for about 65kW on the Tesla and 75kW on the slightly higher voltage (but way less efficient) Rivian. I guess it maybe depends on how fast you wanna drive across the rez...Having a stop in Kayenta would be way easier either way. Probably would only need a 10min stop on 5 hr drive vs the 20-30min in Gallup. The other route where Kayenta would be really helpful is coming back from Moab to Flagstaff. Bluff to Flagstaff is 218 mi with 2600 ft of elevation gain and generally headwinds. Last time we came that route it was about a 90min charge in Bluff to get to 92% in the Rivian. Would certainly be faster in the Model 3 LR.
Your route through Gallup looks faster than the route through Bluff to me too. But they are close enough that you might want to consider mixing it up for variety if it's a drive you do often.

The drive through Bluff is way more scenic than your Gallup route. This country is so gorgeous and even the hamlet of Bluff so quaint, why you'd choose to save 1/2 hour by driving through Gallup, I can't grasp.

So…. Ahhhhh…. Construction is nearly complete on this. I drove by this afternoon as part of a convoy of river rats headed to the Grand Canyon for a 14 day trip. I happened to glance over to the parking lot of the Birger King, and there were what appeared to be at least 8 V3 chargers installed and still wrapped up in white plastic, and at least two cabinets. I have zero photos, but hopefully someone will be driving through and snap some. This is a huge development for those of us in the Four Corners area! I’ll take some photos in two weeks, but hopefully this will be running by then.

It’s not April fools day (I checked my watch), so I hope this is for real!!

Omg!! I have been waiting 12 years since I bought my 1st Model S for this to happen!! Let’s hope it’s real!! I drive through Kayenta 4 times a year and I have learned to live without a Kayenta charger but this opens up some areas of the Rez that I have missed visiting since I went all electric 12 years ago. Yay!!! Great news!
