Superchargers in Northern California (location speculation)

My understanding is that the folks laid off were doing all the back office work to acquire/negotiate properties, plan, engineer, get permits , coordinate with utilities, etc. Actual SC build has always been outsourced as far as I know.

    Germany bans Cybertruck

We were close to Aix. I wouldn't want to drive one of those on those tiny roads with gas at $8 a gallon, but apparently a few folks did.

In the south of France I remember seeing a few RAM and a Raptor.

    Supercharger - Auburn, CA - Lincoln Way (LIVE 29 Feb 2024, 16 V3 stalls)

40% of new cars sold in Bay area are EVs. The number of SCs needed is always more.

Supercharger - Fremont, CA - Thornton Ave. (Dale Hardware, under construction Jul 2023, 12 V3 stalls)

Superchargers in Northern California (location speculation)

They all do. Tesla is using the CCS protocol to charge non Tesla. Vehicles just need to be approved by Tesla to charge on designated v3 chargers with an adapter.

Having also a Rivian, I am very excited about this

Tesla supercharger map now shows SCs open to non Tesla. There are quite a few.

End of the day, trucks with giant hoods, soft or not, are not pedestrians friendly in case of crashes.

Though lately Rivian updates have been problematic. :) Back to my initial point that each vehicle is a compromise of some sort.

Dude, you are trolling. Camera resolution sucks and it's widely known. It's apparently a deal breaker for you and that's fine, but it appears that there are plenty of buyers willing to overlook that minor flaw. As for the rest of the tech, there is plenty to love, which is why I got one. SW is...

True, compared to Tesla newest cameras, Rivian HW sucks

Current Tesla and R1T owner and day 2 CT reservation holder. At current prices and specs, I see no reason to trade the R1T for a CT. I like the idea of strong body panels that won't dent, but other than that the R1T meets my needs. And the Rivian has the tunnel space to store a bunch of stuff...

    Pricing Revealed

We have yet to find out what tires the range is based on. Guessing that the 340 miles is with All seasons, not AT tires, just like Rivian. At least with Rivian, one can lease the truck, get the $7500 credit and then buy it out. Also guessing that $80k CT is with base wheels not the AT upgrade...

Too many threads in this thread. :)

I believe that the price and income limits don't apply to leases. So, theoretically one could choose a pretty optioned R1T and still get the tax credit via a leas, and then buy it out
  31. Z

    Pricing Revealed

Can't you do lease for the truck you want and buy it the next month to get the tax credit?
  32. Z

    Pricing Revealed

The one thing I doubt is the range, battery is way smaller than on a Rivian and the CX is slightly worse on the CT. Can't wait for Kyle Conner to run his tests.

It will be interesting to see how pricing plays out over next 18 months
  34. Z

    Pricing Revealed

Fully expect prices to come down significantly in the next 12-18 months. No way that they sell 250k CT a year at those prices after the die hard fans are done buying.

Superchargers in Northern California (location speculation)

One would think that Tesla and Starbucks would join forces to install SC along the freeway with a Starbucks next to it. Match made in heaven.

Superchargers in Northern California (location speculation)

Actually, didn't Tesla have a coming soon SC centered around Castro Valley a few years back?

Superchargers in Northern California (location speculation)

Quick and dirty math: Tesla is selling solar panels at $3 a W. That translates to around 7c a KWh over 20 years after tax credit. If adding a Powerwall, that's another 3 -7c a KWh depending on system size. Without full net metering it wouldn't be worth it if paying 15c a KWh.
  39. Z

Superchargers in Northern California (location speculation)

Actually, long term cost per KWH with solar is 8 to 12c. So, if you have full net metering it may still be worth it
