Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

No one who follows Elon should be surprised by his method of letting people go and subsequently rehiring some.

No. Just from her business account. Still has them in her personal account.

Why would he? Tesla can offer a new package and if the previous one passes, it will be a miracle. Many people are not willing to keep their word. And there are many changes in share ownership since then.

I didn’t realize so many vehicles had low financing rates.

    Yeah this sucks. [car accident]

Yeah, I’d be surprised if they total it. But I’ve been wrong before.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

The company itself is running better than before and more lean. Valuation is an arbitrary number largely based on fickle sentiment.

He rehired some people at Twitter too after the mass layoffs. Two methods. 1. Slowly cut to get to the right team. 2. Cut big and rehire to get to the right team. Method one probably takes longer and may create more dissatisfaction over longer period. Gets rid of dead weight quicker...

Hertz charger $277 for *gasoline* to fill-up a Model 3

Hertz EVs failed because of stupid stuff like this. Employees poorly trained or not trained at all. But of course EVs get the blame.

    Cybertruck is a scam.

To all the people saying “OMG!, it rusts!” Well here you go.

    The demise of the OEMs

I just wonder how long before Europe and other countries backtrack on their EV mandates.
  16. S

    The demise of the OEMs

Definitely a retreat from EVs. Really sad.
  17. S

    Cybertruck is a scam.

More importantly, it’s up over 13 THOUSAND percent on his watch. The stock went WAY TOO HIGH the first time. Nothing, not even “hopes and dreams” supported that price at that time. That has skewed the numbers dramatically. As far as the rest of the market being up 25%, take out the top 6...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

It appears the @Papafox short increase post above was in correlation to this news coming out today. Some people certainly appear to be trading on early information.

Unfortunate indeed. But the Tesla numbers are skewed a bit due to SIXT it appears.

Well… Elon did mention a buyback.

Elon is following them both again. Can see them both in his following tab.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

A “super bull” means that even LONG term problems are not a “concern”. I am concerned about long term problems. Ie, Elon were to leave, FSD hit’s a dead end, etc. But short term issues like “OMG, Q1 sales dropped… sell, sell, SELL!!!”, mean nothing.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

If I want to hear the bear thesis, I can find it practically everywhere else. Almost every media article, most X posts, most interviews on MSM and many other threads on this forum. Would be nice to have one thread that is full of bear spray. It’s good to understand the full picture but I find...

WholeMars isn’t the best resource but Farzad had issues.

    Entire Supercharging Team Fired?

Musk should not be voted out. Just because he doesn’t conform to some peoples “opinions”, gets some facts wrong on X at times and that Tesla has hit a bit of a rough patch with the stock and sales (even though last year sales did very well), doesn’t mean people should overreact and say FIRE...

Wiki Selling TSLA Options - Be the House

Buoyed by roughly 6 companies. Most of the market hasn’t recovered from 2022. Can see some of this by looking at the Russell 2000 index.

    Entire Supercharging Team Fired?

Someone needs to put up a death clock website of the imminent failure of the supercharger network! /s
  28. S

    Entire Supercharging Team Fired?

Aspirational goals. Take it with a grain of salt then. If people are “concerned” or will later throw shade for not making the goals, don’t buy a product based on “aspirational goals”. Only buy a product for what it does TODAY.
  29. S

    Entire Supercharging Team Fired?

No it isn’t naive. People can buy the product. Use the product. And not have any idea what the CEO is doing. That is true for any and every product available. Now IF you WANT to know all that is going on with said product, then yes. But most don’t give a 💩.
  30. S

    Entire Supercharging Team Fired?

This seems pretty straightforward to me:
  31. S

    Entire Supercharging Team Fired?

Ignore it. Much of said stuff in the news leaves out important context to sway opinion anyway.
  32. S

    Entire Supercharging Team Fired?

And this is why the “freaking out” is ridiculous. Don’t even know all the facts yet. The SC network is still operating.
  33. S

    Entire Supercharging Team Fired?

You don’t “have” to follow Elon either. Many don’t.
  34. S

    Entire Supercharging Team Fired?

It truly is astounding how many people are willing to cut off their nose to spite their face. Oh well. It gives me something to laugh at. people see what they want to see with this.

is Registration fee $750 in California?

Some of it may be because EVs don’t pay for gasoline taxes that supposedly goes to road repair. But these fees (as well as in other states) are far higher than I ever paid in gas taxes with my ICE.

Based on reviews I’ve seen, it seems the top end fade is reduced.

Tesla drops prices on X/S $20k. All colors free. Bye bye resale

Yes. Buying during peak Covid was EXTREMELY expensive on both the purchase and resale later. Even Elon said the prices were embarrassingly high. And at covid time, no one knew for sure when Covid would retreat. Hindsight always 20/20. I just buy a vehicle, keep it for years to where resale...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

It is fun when people point to a specific timeframe. As a LONG TERM investor, I prefer TSLA’s return.

Work in progress: stalks on 2021 Model S. (and optional round-y wheel)

2024 Model 3 Performance Announced - Discussion thread post announcement

Having super low prices at the beginning with a limited supply only creates a bigger backlog, not more cars on the road.
  43. S

2024 Model 3 Performance Announced - Discussion thread post announcement

If people are concerned about resale, don’t do the following: 1. Buy during peak Covid prices. 2. Buy during first year of release when demand is greatest for a new version. 3. Try to flip within two years. I love the Tesla price cuts. I don’t care one iota that my current model S is worth...

    New to Tesla: 2016.5 Model S P100D

It seems prices have gone too cheap for used Teslas. I have over 113k miles on my 2017 model S and still runs almost like new. Maybe once others realize this and the fear of battery replacement subsides, used Teslas may go up in value a bit. It was just recently shown on consumers reports...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

It looks like Tesla will need to win by creating the best car with the best value vs relying on people to do the “right thing” for the climate. Fortunately I think Tesla is in one of the best positions to do so. So many people are flipping out in a positive way over the new model 3 performance...

    FSD now $8,000. Who's buying?

If that doesn’t work, supposedly can setup different user profiles. One with FSD on and another with it off. I haven’t tried this.
