That quote wasn’t from me was it? I never said you don’t pay depreciation on a lease. I said that it is irrelevant how much the car is actually worth after a few years because they automatically take it back without even giving you the opportunity to buy it.

Leasing is simply a bet on depreciation. You are betting that the leasing company has overvalued their car and they are betting that you have undervalued it.

You are always paying depreciation on a lease. You are just hoping that they have underestimated that depreciation for this particular car.

your actual quote was "a lease makes all this irrelevant" and "all this" in that context was the depreciation discussion. Anyway, this is pretty off target to the thread, so I wont be commenting on depreciation in this thread any more.

Random question. I have an order for an Ultra Red with black interior for $54,990. With the white interior now being free, is there any chance Tesla would let me update my order to add the white interior at no cost? Or would any updates automatically have to be applied at the new pricing.

I highly doubt it. But, the only way to find out is to contact your service advisor.

You can't pick and choose which prices you want. Either you take delivery of your order as it is or you can put in a new order.

While I agree, my experience is that generally your order will automatically have the most favorable pricing applied up until you take delivery. Had I ordered a red / white, I feel like I absolutely could have advocated to have the white interior for free now. This kind of confusion is another reason not to have weekly price adjustments.

Lol no. The cost of ultra red + white interior is $56,990 currently. So your logic doesn’t make any sense.

When the first price update happened for the M3P, I asked my sales advisor if they would honor the $500 discount for white interior. Unfortunately they could not do it without placing a new order and losing out on the original $250 deposit. Usually any price adjustments that Tesla will honor that will work in the buyers favor will be done automatically like you mentioned.

I'm going to advocate for the original price so I can have my red car! :)

So stopped by the Tesla dealer in Colorado Springs and this was parked out front. Taking it for a test drive but no draggy with me because I didn’t think it would be here

With people finding them available, someone needs to just talk with the staff to get a full charged one to help get a dragy run.

At least the guys in my old area were all for us ragging on the tester cars. It’s probably what convinced us to buy one in the first place. I’m pretty sure the folks I dealt with would have helped get it set up.

So matches the media guys claim of 2.9 with a passenger as well....

Anyway, wish I didn't buy mine a year ago to have known this one was coming. However this might be the ticket in 4+ years or so.

I'm sure we'll have quite a few results in the next 2 weeks or so and either a lot more buyers based on great results or just status quo sales.
