2017 Model X acceleration upgrades? A

Hello, first post here. I am finally about to completely commit here to my first Tesla vehicle. I am thinking of trying a used model first I am mainly interested in the model X or possibly a model S. The car that I'm looking at currently is a 2017 model X 75D or 90D. One thing I can't get a for sure answer on and there seems to be many different ways to go about this but I want a clear answer on if a 2017 model X 75 or 90d would be eligible for the acceleration boost upgrade. I know it's called a few different things online. I have heard that it makes ithd 0-60 1 second faster. The standard 0 to 60 on the model X 75D is actually slower around six seconds, so I was hoping to possibly download an acceleration boost. Does anybody have any good information or articles on this? I would like to know about each upgrade and how much it cost and also how to go about doing it . Thank you!

Clicking Noise From Drive Train

To confirm, my wheels are balanced and are not bent. This issue all started when all my ABS lights, traction lights etc went off and brought into Tesla. Many front suspension parts were replaced including the upper control arm and front wheel speed sensors.

After this service visit, my car has been emitting heavy vibrations, almost like a shake into the steering and both driving pedals. What’s worse is it shakes over 60mph, becoming undrivable at nearly 75mph.

I decided to take a look under the car and when I spun the front wheel, a clicking noise came from the driveshaft. Seems to be clicking where the axle and driveshaft meet.

Would anyone happen to know if this is the cause for shaking? If so, any way to remedy this? I am currently at 70,000 miles so general warranty is out, but I still have drivetrain warranty. Would this be covered?

Why did my Tesla say “I call shotgun” while I was driving? Is it some Easter Egg? Has anyone else had this happen?

Hi all,

Last night I was driving with a friend and my Tesla M3 highland randomly said “I call shotgun” while we were talking.

Has anyone had the car do this before? Is it some Easter egg situation? I vaguely recall that we were talking about how good the car would be at drive-by’s, on account of how quiet it is.

ABS, ESP ESP_w001, ESP_w002, ESP_w003 error code

I have ABS and ESP issues on my Model S 2015. The last 6 months I had error codes sporadically. See attached pictures for all codes.
IMG_6717.jpeg

It started for 6 months ago with error codes just for a few days and then it worked for some weeks. Especially in the mornings after a night with moisture. And then more frequently error codes was occurring. After driving in heavy rain it worked for almost two months without error codes. Then the error codes came back.

Measured front abs sensors and left sensor showed 5,8 MOhm. Right sensor showed 1,3kOhm. Decided to order a new abs sensor for left side.

When new abs sensor (Febi Bilstein) arrived it showed 9.0 MOhm. Decided then to replace left abs sensor front as this showed 1,3 kOhm. This did not work.

Ordered one more sensor and replaced also abs sensor right side front. That did also not work.

Now I have measure also the rear abs sensors and they show around 9 MOhm both sides. I also measured the contacts in the car and all four contacts shows around 0,9 MOhm.

After I replaced the first abs sensor the error codes does not disappear. I start to believe that my new front abs sensors (Febi Bilstein) makes the error. I also tried to turn the wheel and measure AC voltage but it’s not possible to get any reading at any position.

I do have diagonistic cable ethernet, but no access to Toolbox.

Could the error codes be caused by the ECU for ABS or the new abs sensors or should I go for replacing the rear abs sensors as well?

Any help forward would be highly appreciated!

FSD with MCU1

Looking for some help!! I have a '17 MS 100D with MCU1, FSD paid for, upgraded computer and cameras. I asked why I still haven't been enrolled to beta (opted in over a year ago) and was told that I need to upgrade to MCU2 because the Tegra system couldn't handle FSD. I stated that was incorrect, that vehicles with MCU1 have FSD and they said I would need to provide VIN numbers as proof. Looking for people to send VIN numbers that have MCU1 and FSD and which software version to prove the service center wrong. Thanks

Should I buy used MX 2016 P90D Founder series with expired warranty?

Hello,

I'm on the fence to purchase a used MX 2016 P90D founder #18 with 117K miles for $25k. The seller already replaced the HV and rear drive train while under warranty a year ago. Since the car is out of warranty for everything, my concern is that how long will the replaced HV & motor will last? Should I be aware of any major problems down the road? This is my first Tesla and I just want to own it for another 4-5 years. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Tesla Model 3 Performance / Ludicrous Tracker : Much Data

Here is a good tracker to track the deliveries of the new M3P. You can see what what color/interior combos have VINs, a map of where deliveries are scheduled, and lots of other great data..

NOTE: This is outside of TMC and TMC is not responsible for any grabassery that occurs.

Using app to making the final payment

How does the final payment process work in the app? I started going through the process because I thought I could just link my bank and get it ready now but it seems like when I link it, the payment will be sent automatically and I don't want to pay until I've inspected the car.

Can I link it ahead of time and pay later? Can I choose to send a small amount now just to test things out? Does it take time for it to show that I've paid so I get the car? Or should I just do it all there after reviewing the car?

Any details before I accidentally fork over tens of thousands of dollars would be appreciated.

is this repairable or will it be totaled

IMG_8833.jpeg

This is the damage. For context… I was in my driveway getting ready to leave for a concert and my cousin was pulling in next to me to put his car in the garage… I had waved to him and out the car in reverse. I looked all around to make sure it was okay for me to back out. I started backing out of my driveway and suddenly someone came zooming behind me and i ended up hitting them. They were going really fast so i didn’t see them and the car never alerted me that someone was there. So i ended up with this kinda of damage… Luckily my car is still drive able but i want to know if its repairable or will it be totaled… Its a 2020 Model 3

  • Question
Text message reading volume

For the life of me I cannot figure this out. I don't get text messages very often in the car that I "need" to respond to while driving. However, I occasionally do, and the text-to-speech volume of the text message is quite loud. How do I lower this volume? When I use the left scroll wheel to lower (while message is being read) it only lowers the media volume.

Lease Renewal and Registration Fee

I'm helping my parents with a lease renewal on their Model 3 Performance. They have a bill for the renewal of their registration due June 15th (same date as the lease is set to expire). Currently the new order is set to be delivered in "June". Can they can turn the car in early to avoid double paying the registration fee? In the online questionnaire for lease return they were also prompted with a question saying that "they will be presented the best lease end option" if they choose to return their lease when taking delivery. What does this even mean and if they want to return it early I assume the answer to this prompt should be no. Thanks in advance for any help!

I had my front license plate removed. I had the tape as well as bracket holding on the plate with 2 screws from under the bumper.

I had my front license plate removed. I had the tape as well as bracket holding on the plate with 2 screws from under the bumper. Now that the plate is removed, I left with a barely visible crease on the bumper from where the plate was. Any suggestions on repairing. My (come to my home repair guy who is excellent ) asked me if there was any way to get to the bumper without taking off the bumper. Is there a way to get to the bumper from inside the car? Any repair suggestions / costs?

Undisclosed Accident Revealed

So, I bought a used, 2020 Model X Long Range Plus from a dealer in another city. The Carfax was clean and the dealer assured me that vehicle passed a thorough inspection. I purchased the vehicle without performing an independent inspection. I've been driving the vehicle for about a week with no major issues.

On a lark, I decided to check Autocheck for this vehicle, and it turns out it was involved in an accident in December. The title is clean and there are no major repairs reported, but there's also no information about the accident. Can the Tesla Service Center determine the extent of any accident-related vehicle damage? What is the best course at this point?

  • Question
Is the Tesla car or app causing phone problems in the house?

I am having occasional trouble with audio on my iPhone working only one way (they can hear me but I can’t hear them, or vice versa) in the middle of a call. To be clear, I’m talking about using my phone outside of the car but potentially near the car. Could proximity to the car or having the Tesla app on my phone be the cause of these audio glitches? It is a 2023 model Y if that matters.

Model Y range question

Range question model y

Hello everyone!

I have a 2023 Model Y LR. At 100% charge the range shows 279 miles.

I was curious about battery degradation so I’ve followed instructions and let the car perform the battery test. Checked the next day and results came in at 99% battery health which is great, but at 100% it still shows 279.

Does the battery health test also perform a recalibration for BMR or is that a separate exercise that needs to be done? I generally try to not worry about miles and have it show % instead but still a bit bothers me why it only shows 279 if batter health is 99%

(Side note I only charge to 100% for the sake of this testing i don’t do that regularly)

Thank you!
