What ever happened to the hard drive in the car?

Well, I did get my visors replaced a couple weeks ago. The plastic mirror cover snapped off from the driver's side visor and I guess they don't keep the older thin visors around so I got the newer ones. Not sure if they are doing this for anyone who asks, or for repairs only.

Mine broke as well. Never bothered with a replacement though.

My car came with no mirrors under the flaps. I thought they were just going to snap in the mirror element, but they ended up replacing both my visors. This was back in early 2013, so the visors were essentially the same, just with mirror glass this time.

I want the carbon fiber exterior trim originally promised.

I have a 2TB hard drive in my Tesla. I just plug it into the higher power USB port and it works fine. Sure, it isn't integrated but there are more fundamental problems with the media software that Tesla needs to fix with a rewrite. This one is easy to fix.
