The article says there will be a 125 kW motor and doesn't mention the battery size. It could be that the author meant 125 kWh, but maybe not. Since it's VW, they're probably basing range on the ridiculous NEDC cycle, so more like 250 miles of range. This would mean a smaller battery than 125 kWh.

I think there is more than one electric VW being discussed. The concept car announced for 2020 supposedly will have 373 miles of range. There is a new long range BEV (maybe a new Golf EV?) coming out sooner that will have the 250 miles NEDC range. By 2020 VW is supposed to have lots of EVs in their lineup. (I am guessing most of which will be plug in hybrids of some form)

You're not serious aren't you VW? No, when it comes to EVs apparently not. Tesla would be light years ahead of you by then.

Or at least, working on transportation for use on the red planet by then... that's only a few light-minutes away... but point taken... ;-)
