TPMS reports "tire pressure higher than recommended value" at 45 PSI

This is very strange

I had them before at even 49 PSI on a hot summer day but now they report high pressure at even 44/45 PSI

Any idea why they would say that the pressure is too high ?

Sorry my car is in Dutch and could change it to English while driving, It says :

Please adjust your cold pressure to 42 psi. It looks like yours have too much pressure

The picture I took was after 2 hours driving so they were hot. It’s already at 42 psi cold. Just lowered it to 40 to see if the message stays away

try to adjust the pressure to 42 psi after the car stays parked overnight and before you drive first thing in the morning. With the cold 42 psi, you should not go over 45-46 psi even during the long highway drive.

I thought the question was why is his TPMS registering "high" at 45psi when he's never seen this message before at 49psi?

I wasn't aware that TPMS would throw a "high psi" warning. Is this new?

Yeah, I have never seen this kind of warning, and I regularly see the tires go from 42 cold to 45-47 if it's hot out.

Maybe jcanoe will chime in, as he keeps his MYLR tires at 44-45psi, and they must go higher when hot.

Mine go up to 45-46 when hot, never seen this error. If it's new, they should recalibrate the warning. There's nothing to worry about at that pressure if it's from normal expansion from heat.

The maximum pressure is always molded into the sidewall. For the OE Continental Procontact RX this is 51 PSI. There is a large margin of safety built in, before the tire may fail due to excessive pressure.

Yeah, I have seen 45 on mine during summer highway drives as well. I keep them at 42 psi cold. So seems like some new message, perhaps, or an error. I do know from personal experience that the car will not register higher than 60 psi in the car, and will generate the classic yellow tire pressure warning if your tires are that high....

I set main at 42 about a week ago. Every day when I start out, the readings are different, not by much though. This morning they 3 were 41, one at 42. Yesterday they were at 43 with one at 44. I give up..just going to drive.

Just remember that the Bluetooth TPMS sensors in these wheels are from Aliexpress but look identical to the oem only the Tesla logo is not printed on them

Maybe I'm mistaking, or for sure I was mistaken to be the original once but then printed without the logo to not have a fight with Tesla

Drove it today again and no problem on my short route of about 32 km (20 miles)

What I do see is that sometimes it takes up to 4 minutes for a sensor to report again the pressure

Years before i got the MY i would fill my tires and just drive worry free for a few months until i remember to check pressure again. Then refill as needed and drive again.
All this information overload these days is really nice and all but makes you forget a car is just a car

Never seen that before either. Mine has gone 49 or even 50 PSI when driving in the middle of hot summer and there was no such warning. Mine is routinely in the 44-46 PSI during a typical drive.

Is it doing a temperature based adjustment perhaps? I'm going to guess the OP is currently at low ambient temperatures outside given the heat usage, which is different than those that have seen higher air pressures during hot summers.

It is for 99% certain that these sensors are to blame and cause this problem.
I now have 1 that is stuck at 40 psi and the other 3 are already turning red at 44 psi.
Past by the service center and they think the fake sensors are bad as well.
They also never saw the red high pressure warning before

Opened a case with Aliexpress to refund me my money and just ordered new oem once.

they look exactly like the oem tesla’s so I thought they might be the same but with only missing the tesla logo…. But sadly not. So will wait now dor the oem’s to come in and then get them swapped out

Got the exact issue today with my MYLR. Installed winter tires with new TPMS sensors and drove for a week with no issues (pressures between 42 and 46), then today I started getting high pressure warning at 44psi.
