My charger is outside and not sure about the velcros all weather proofing. Yes it works a charm make sure you are close to the port as range is limited.

You want 3M Dual Lock for outdoors if possible - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Dual-Lock-SJ3550-Tape-25-4mm - is fully plastic and has a VHB type tape on the back of it too. It sort of clicks together rather than peels like velcro does and won't hold onto any water. I used it to mount two small spotlights to my motorbike fairings and never let go in 20,000 miles in all weathers.

I have S3XY buttons with commander (2 gen)

One of the cool features (apart the killer one of AP auto resume, or as they call it Continuous AutoPilot) is that I have programmed that if I keep passenger side rear door handle at fully open for couple of seconds, it unlocks the cable.

Dual lock is good, we use it at work. Very satisfying mechanical click when the two sides connect.

First rain shower

The remote is still there. Survived first and second rain in East of England. And I have to say very easy to open the port at night and a pleasant feeling to do the click and open just for £4.
