Tesla windshield never has fog

I’ve owned several cars before and all of them have issues of windshield fog, especially in the rain and in the cold. But it has never been an issue with my Tesla (climate set as auto) so I’m just wondering if anyone knows what the reason is? Or have I just been very unlucky with my previous cars?

Tesla is really good about running the AC a bit all the time to dry the air in the cabin. As long as you keep climate control on Auto, it will never fog up. I have tried to run in manual a few times and thats when it fogs up. It has nothing to do with the newer octovalve or heat pump. The very first Tesla Model S had this feature. They just run the AC a bit in addition to the heater. In the newer cars with the heat pump, this method is more efficient now as it can use both the heat and cold produced.
