More Info: Supercharging.Life database

This is a friendly contest for Tesla owners to track the number of unique public Superchargers where they have charged

- "Supercharger count" is the number of unique public Superchargers where you have charged (just being there does not count), whether or not you were the person plugging in the vehicle (such as a Valet Parking garage or a Passenger) and whether or not it was your own personal vehicle (such as a rental, a loaner, or a friend's Tesla) as long as you were the one who drove >50% of the distance to reach the charger(s).
- The list of chargers in the supercharging.life database are the ones included in the game. If you think one should be added or removed from the list, let us know.
- Only chargers available to the public without special permission are included in the game.
- Chargers not connected to the grid are not counted.
- Doublet locations like the North/South Supercharger 'pairs' in CT, ME, NH, etc. count as individual locations.
- More than 1 charger at the same address, such as Lenox Square Mall (Atlanta, GA) or Montgomery Mall (Bethesda, MD) count as individual locations when they appear as a separate location on the Tesla Nav screen.
- Inactive competitors will be archived and removed from the leaderboard. Just post an update to be reactivated.

See Supercharging.Life database for info on how to post your own visits to the database (preferred), or post your locations with date visited to this thread and one of the admins will update your list for you. All visits must be posted to this thread - not just entered in supercharging.life. If you are the first in the game to visit a supercharger location, please post to the thread as soon as you can so others know it has been visited.

Randy's observation leads me to ask the question as to whether to stay with this map layer or revert to the tableau map layer? My vote would be to revert for the following reasons:
  • it loads slowly. sometimes very slowly. This is the number one reason to revert in my book.
  • I find it incredibly hard to read when zoomed in.
  • The heavy use of orange and red make adding any points of interest very hard to discern. Zoomed-out it is very orange heavy. Zoomed in, red heavy. The red not-yet-visited dots get lost when zooming in to state or lower levels.
  • I have zero control over what features are displayed
The big advantage for us is that roadways are emphasized.

I propose switching back. How do others feel?
I have a strong preference for the old map.

You didn't hit the garage in downtown Seattle on your way out of town?

Also, how hard do you plan on going in CA. Looks like you have nearly a hundred unvisited there!
We got a late start and Anna didn't want to deal with downtown traffic. We'll be back in Seattle later this year.

We're going to hit everything down to San Jose and a bit south - whatever we can do by Friday. Then we have to return to Portland, OR area for a couple of days before we resume the trip. We'll be skipping LA and South on this trip and leave it for next time. We have a planned itinerary to resume by June 16.

Added a few since my last visit. Struggling to find my tableau map so I can more easily know which ones I’ve been to - can someone link me?

SoS Trip Day 27

This was a slow drive down 101 due to numerous road works/one lane sections. Only two new Superchargers to show for seven and a half hours of driving. Tomorrow should be better - I'm hoping for 14.

983. Laytonville, CA
984. Fort Bragg, CA

We went north when they were available all the way up the 1. Maybe 9-10 stops. Crescent City??

It is a tough HWY to maintain.

Never taken that route from Grants Pass, how was it?

I love that drive from From Grants Pass to Crescent City on 199. Goes past Oregon Caves, then gets into some nice fun twisty roads along a river gorge. I have driven it in fog, now that was not fun.

REALLY twisty roads. The dog was NOT happy. I finally had to just hold him to my chest for a few hours as we drove into and out of Fort Bragg from Medford, OR. He was SO HAPPY when we hit Hwy 101 for the (relatively quick) drive home. The one way construction was a bother but wasn't as long a delay as that between Pendleton, OR and Alturas, CA.

Also, that construction was scarier as there isn't anything around if you do run out of juice in Eastern Oregon. The brain doesn't do the math that if you do run out it won't be in the middle of the drive, but at the end, near the next Supercharger. My brain kept imagining spending the night in the desert w/o power for heat and w/o any passersby. Neither would have happened...

Don't you keep an eye on the % SOC at the destination as you drive? With my short range car I keep close watch on that number on any trip leg! I worry more about an actual breakdown out in the boonies.

I DO keep an eye, the issue is that stretch is almost too far to go in my car even with a full charge. The two construction delays of almost 40 minutes (and I was the only car waiting) were making me think I were not going to make it. Not that the car really uses much power when sitting, but I got out and walked the dog so the car was really not using much power.

I was already committed though, no going back. Not sure why the car said I would make it there with 22% when I left the Supercharger, it wasn't any kind of windy, and it was only 88° out, but it dropped to 6% about the half way mark. Fortunately that was as far as it dropped and what I arrived with.
