As I recall, E. Greenwich, RI "ribbon cutting ceremony" was postponed due to poor weather or something. I only heard about the event from the forums. Never heard anything since though. Did they finally hold an event?

A bunch of Tesla owners, maybe eight or so, drove down with Matt from the Watertown Service Center. This was informal; I don't think they ever rescheduled the official opening, but I could be wrong.

I am in CT, about 44 miles from Auburn, so presumably I will get an invite. For those that have attended such "grand openings", who all shows up, other than owners?

yes we did, we even had a late lunch with about 20 of us (spouses/kids) at the Outback Steakhouse in the E Greenwich parking lot.

Aw, I wish I had known. If anything happens at Auburn (or Sagamore) I hope there will be some posts on the forum.

There are some fits and starts involved getting from power on to "open". It involves some testing, and then sometimes some adjustments to get things right, it seems. Rockville SC led me to expect the Hagerstown SC would be open after they supported testing with one of their loaners, but then it went a couple more weeks to get things right... Patience! I'm sure they work as fast as possible, given normal construction contingencies...

Paving in progress, they've got most of the trench done and looks like they'll finish right up to the pads and pedestals today. Also, the enclosure fence is mostly up and should be done today. Still no transformer. I'll post pics later when I get home.

No matter how long this takes, remember, you'll be enjoying the use of it for years to come.

Another load of asphalt was arriving as I left, so pretty sure all the paving will get done today. Rain is holding off. Saw an S charging at Chilli's on my way home.

If there is no transformer, what then are the white cabinets in the enclosure for?

I believe the white cabinets are the Tesla chargers.

Yes, the cabinets are the chargers. The transformer will go where the big wooden crate is. It's just an empty box covering the wires that will connect to the transformer.

I'd be guessing, but I think Tesla is sending notices out to people within ~60 miles of an SC. To find out about the rest, you just need to read TMC obsessively.

I live about 260 miles from Chattanooga SC, but in the same state. Tesla Motors emailed me when it opened.

Thanks for the updates. Been waiting a year for this supercharger!!

No photos today either, as no change worth documenting, and I'm getting lazy in my dotage. With any luck, it'll be available by Thanksgiving.
