Someone please explain the "Get Amped" events (battery issue related--see post)

Hey, here in Hong Kong, the test drives are limited to 60kph (about 37mph), so consider yourselves lucky. My wife did manage to 'push it' to 61kph before the limiter kicked in - woohoo

but I heard it was actually our crazy fellow Tesla owners at the Los Angeles event who put the icing on the cake. I guess a few of the Tesla employees were freaked out over the risks being taken and were not comfortable over being in the passenger seat.

The speed was limited to 80 at the Hawthorne Get Amped event. Only at the Fremont event was it unlimited.
