Is the (15) the number of laps for the parade? Or, the number of cars allowed? Do you happen to know? Thanks.

Kip(ernicus) and I are driving down and will catch the two cars sessions at 11:00 and 1:40 and then get in the parade in my car if possible.

I think when they don't specify laps then they mean time. So it is probably 15 minutes of track time, however many laps that ends up being (like about 5 laps when driving slowly.)

I'd be happy to drive your P85+ and shoot for a new production EV track record. The current record is 1:50.883 set by a Tesla Roadster 1.5 in 2011. I'll be there to try to beat that on Sunday with another 1.5 Roadster, but would love to see how the P85+ compares.

Nevermind, it is sold out for cars. I've got on the waiting list but not getting my hopes up.

You might want to show up anyway and see if there any last minute cancellations, like people deciding it's too hot (which it's supposed to be, unfortunately).

The weather down at Laguna Seca is actually going to be relatively pleasant for whatever reason; a full 20 degrees cooler than the Bay Area.

Hope to see some of you - TEG, smorgasbord? - there. Kipernicus and I are driving down in time for the 11 am run; we'd be merely spectators though and will stay on for the parade at 3:05. Look for my Green MS 60 with the plates VISHY EV.

EV parade with easily 50+ cars a lot of which were Teslas! Really cool to do almost a couple of laps while staying under 50 mph.

Kipernicus got much better shots with his camera than I have including some cool ones from the corkscrew and even some from the electric bike race that featured Brammos, Zeroes and also an intrepid scooty rider!

All in all, a real fun day! The Tesla owner turnout was fantastic. Tesla, the company, had setup a small camp as well and it was great on their part to provide the superchargers on-site.

Kip and I ran into a relatively senior employee, Ted Merendino, who was glad to meet us and promised that there's some really cool, currently experimental stuff coming on the horizon (some of which was apparently featured in the three(?) cars that Tesla employees drove today). The VP of Engg who came over from Aston Martin was apparently there on the track.

I was impressed by the diversity of EVs there: 2 Fit EV, 2 Rav4 EV, 3 Active E, several Leafs, conversions (Karmann Ghia was my fav), Zero and Brammo bikes, and those electric carts and scooter guy. Lots of charging infrastructure all over the place, from the two 120kW supers to HPCs to 14-50s.

And, Fiat had a thing there where you could drive a 500e around a little course set up with cones. Nice little car, but those tires just couldn't handle the electric motor - floor it and it squeals!

All in all a great day for a great event!

Yes, indeed it did. By a hair. Racing slicks and supreme driving skill were no match for top secret next gen tech. Model S wins!

I drove a Roadster Sport down from Palo Alto last night, stayed at a Salinas Hotel, then went to the track in the morning.

Hey TEG, yeah, Kip and I were wandering all over the place including up the corkscrew overlook hill; thought I'd catch you at the post-run debriefs.
