referral miles

Sorry if this has been asked before. i searched and couldn't find my exact answer. If you currently had model S and referred yourself to get the 1000 miles. As I understand you have 6 months to use the 1000 miles but since say I referred myself I now have 2000 miles did it also add another 6 months? Do I have 6 months to use 1000 miles then 6 months to use the other 1000. Or is it 12 months to use all 2000?

Free Supercharger miles will apply to any vehicles on the same account, and will expire 6 months after the miles are added. Each additional referral will extend the expiration date by 6 months.
