The nose cone design on a black car is a real winner but on lighter colors it looked like, well... a grill, which was natural for it's time in 2012. I'd agree the refresh compliments the rest of the lines very well.

I also liked that they switched the back bumper out from raw plastic to painted black. It did lose the chrome trim unfortunately.

The general silhouette of the car is fine.

The problem w/ all Tesla are the "details" and "trims". The quality is just FAR from being luxury or quality.

Things starts falling apart real fast...

I didn't like the refresh at first, so much so that I started looking at used Teslas to get the nose cone. But the more I looked at it, the more it grew on me, until now the nose cone looks tacked on vs. the sleek lines of the refresh. My favorite part of the car is the rear fender bulges - makes the car look like it's ready to spring forward, perfectly proportioned execution of a timeless detail. Compared to the tacked on plastic look of many new cars, it's a modern classic.

I wish that was possible w/ Tesla.. but I don't think that's the case...

The panels, carpeting, exterior gaskets, chrome trims etc... they're just not QUALITY. (sad to say)

Awesome. So based on the polls, it sounds like Model S design played key factor when shopping for the car

Sadly, I have not seen a good looking EV (not PHEV) besides Tesla.

I am into 5 months of ownership and the exterior design still doesn't bore me.

Always feels like when I bought it new.

Timeless design.

I'd give it an 8 in looks, it's not the best looking car on the road but it's the best overall. For pure pure looks i'd take the Fisker karma as the best looking EV on the road.
I actually prefer the pre facelift MS.

looks good, the only MS i thnk that looks better is the Pearl White with Black wheels and chrome delete. The hottest!

- It is delicate
- That front nose could be better

Refresh all the way. 8/10 because it's beautiful all around but I hate chrome and there's way too much of it. I always buy what I call the "Chrome Haters Edition" of my cars whenever possible. For example, my F150 is the sport version with black grill, no chrome around the windows or handles. Even the radio antenna is painted black.

I wish there was a "Chrome Haters Edition" of the S. I guess I'll just have to look into getting a chrome delete done.

Interesting... I actually like chrome. Silver+chrome or Black+chrome combo makes it very elegant

I wonder how new & recent buyers rate the exterior design.

Even after a year of ownership, the car looks better than most other cars out there. It never bores me.
