Parking Brake Sensor Disconnect

Hi Folks, I'm waiting on parking brake calipers to get shipped to my home (still in transit) where I plan to swap the calipers as mine is making a grinding noise so its starting to fail.

Just curious, can I set the car to tow mode, pull the wheels off and disconnect the wire to the parking brake? Basically I want it to remain disengaged, I figure I'll ask my wife to toss a brick under the tire when we stop anywhere for a period of time.

I just need to get around a bit until my new ones arrive. I get not to drive when its raining/wet, and will cover all connectors.

I just don't know if the car will allow me to drive, or will it simply not move until its connected?

Hi there,
we just did few months ago parking brakes on model S 2012.
It was pain all sliding pin sized and on of the electric brake motors were broken. Here are some of the pictures we took at that time.
First ting was to put tesla in jack mode ( to prevent suspension from moving/adjusting when you lift the car)
Second was to choke rear wheels before you put tesla in Towing mode.(this mode enable you to rotate rotors freely and disengage parking brake .
Third was safety red plug released from electric motor connector. (As you can see on the picture.
Fourth we just removed all calipers with brake pads and electric motor attached to it.
Fifth was to remove 3 screws holding electric motor on caliper.
Sixth was pain in the .......to remove sliding pins fully rusted and sized. (This part was about 1.5 hours for both sides ,used hummers, some pins bolts whatever was available even vibrating tool used for removing wheel bearing ,very long and not easy step 6)
After that when pins are finally released we used grinder to clean them and reused until new from ebay arrived. Retainer was also orderd.3 times cheaper ordering from on line than from dealership)

We also as you can see disassembled electric motor and lubricated all gears inside. Also we did order from ebay motor only because dealership selling only full assembly with caliper over $700.00 and on ebay was about $60.00 and free delivery.

After that we use same grease for driveshaft on snowblower CORNHEAD EP-0 GREASE to lubricate all moving parts on electric motor parking brake caliper.

Now electric pump is very quite .
That was working in our case.
Retainer we have ordered fro. Dealership it was about $30 ,crazy expensive.on line when we ordered new brake pads was included in kit for free.
That means we have save money and order aftermarket parts which must pass quality check standards.
Cleaning and lubricating sliding pins was next step.we have used SILICONE HIGH HEAT GREASE..

Small side note ...
Pay attention to calipers boots not being cracked in any way.one of our electric pump were damaged ,cracked and we used temporarily silicon for exhaust flange to prevent contamination until new electric pump from ebay arrived. YOU CAN SEE ALL IMAGES RELATING THIS FIX at bottom.

It was all for educational purposes only as well as saving tons of money too.
Hope this will help to all who like to improve parking brake electric pump.
One more side note here....
TO COMPRESS CALIPER YOU HAVE TO ROTATE GEAR SLOWLY IN ONE DIRECTION ,DO NOT PRESS IT LIKE ON FRONT OR REAR BRAKE CALIPERS.THIS IS DIFFERENT PISTONS AND NEED TO BE ROTATED WITH PLIERS OR WRENCH KEY ,DONT DAMAGE GEAR WHILE ROTATING IT.
