If anyone finds out if non ludicrous P90D models can upgrade for the 20k price please post, I'd love to know.

Probably not, I assume one must upgrade to ludicrous for 10k and then upgrade to 100 kWh for an additional 20k
I have noticed that people keep talking about the 100K upgrade as a "battery only" upgrade. There seems to be quite a few options that are inlucded with a100K upgrade.

Your P85 does 0-60 in four seconds and change, the new top end is 2.5, that's a huge difference. If you spec out a roughly comparable car, you'd be looking at a 90D (no P) and I think the price will be much more comparable as well.

They haven't so much raised the price of the top end as they have added higher-end variants.
Alternatively you could get both a Porsche 918 and a LaFerrari to haul 4 passengers at the same time, but you have to teach one of the kids to drive the 918 or the laFerrari to help with school drop-offs and Pickups. Also there may be a maintenance charge associated with these cars for oil changes, just saying.

I am definitely thinking of upgrading to 100K. Now I have to change my forum name :) my car did not enter production yet. I called my delivery specialist and she said it will cost me $10K for the upgrade.

I am puzzled with the range upgrade. From 90K to 100K 11.1% battery capacity increase the range seems higher from 250 to 289 miles that's 39 miles 15.6% more.

While I think Tesla Model S is cool and telling myself saving gas justify buying one. But the fact P100D or even let say 100D cost well over 120k for it. I dont think the "luxury" design / interior warrant the price yet.

You can get a Porsche or really nice Mercedes or BMW for 100k with much better interior detail design....
People who buy a Tesla find other aspects of the car more important than interior design detail. Those other manufacturers don't make a long distance EV. Everyone has different priorities.

Ok, performance wise... They are saying 0-60 in 2.5 seconds.
Motor trend got 0-60 in 2.6s on the P90D.
2015 Tesla Model S P90D w/Ludicrous Upgrade First Test

What do you think, is it really going to be much different? It can't be that much different.

I'm set to lease a demo P90D right now that is 64% off the price of a new P100D. Seriously. The lease payments are approx 1/3 of the lease payments on a new P100D. Do I really care about those last 0.1 or 0.2 seconds? :)

I'd also be missing out on:
ventilated seats
cupholders
led headlights
hepa filter
facelift nosecone

Anything else important?

Improved range, which is apparently king. For most people the extra 20 miles or so won't really matter though...
Rumored AP 2.0 hardware (due to price increase in AP on new cars)
We've heard that charging speed isn't affected, but if it is, that is "queen" (behind range)
