Car was in service center for a couple of cosmetic issues but then would not complete the firmware update to 18.10.5. A charge port door alert appeared and the port cover and its ECU were replaced but this did not fix the firmware install problem. At first it seemed the SD card was bad so they got a new one, tried reformatting it, then thought that the card reader connnections on the MCU could be at fault so ultimately decided to replace the whole MCU. East coast Service worked directly with West coast engineering to get this resolved so the Dedham folks were working quite late into the weekend to get it done.

It seems there was a batch of mcu boards with bad sd cards or card reader
