Poke around in this twitter thread and maybe you can figure it out. From context and timing I'd guess that it's the "sneak peek" of 2.x FSD firmware. HW3 only.on 18 Dec I just got 40.2.1.......now 40.50 is out and I see I'm 3 behind......hahahaha.......anybody know what 40.50 has?
Hooray for voice controlled temperature settings. Wonder if it works for the recirculate button that often doesn't stay on after parking. The new update will have text reading...finally...and some other goodies.

this one is one is kinda odd to me. I can roll the same scroll wheel and set the temperature much quicker than using a click and waiting on the voice command dialogue to change it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Voice commands finally... But, is it also for MCU1 OR MCU2 only?
Still MUCH faster to tap the button “seat Icon” that is persistent on the bottom of the screen ¯\_(ツ)_/¯But not seat heat!
The point is obviously not speed, but safety.Still MUCH faster to tap the button “seat Icon” that is persistent on the bottom of the screen ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Exactly. The car recognizes the traffic lights and stop signs, and responds by displaying a 3D model of them on the IC. Feature complete!Rofl. Remember guys, “later this year” your cars will:
- Recognize and respond to traffic lights and stop signs.
Still MUCH faster to tap the button “seat Icon” that is persistent on the bottom of the screen ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I think I can still do two simple clicks easier than hoping my car recognizes “turn on right rear heated seat”For front seats but not rear. That's buried with 4 clicks and unnecessarily turning on HVAC.
The point is obviously not speed, but safety.
kinda odd that you feel unsafe making two clicks. Never seemed / seems a bit unsafe to me. But to each his own ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Some people will be more distracted by pressing steering wheel buttons and making verbal commands hoping they work than simply pressing two buttons on the MCU. It’s far less distracting than using streaming music buttons to find a selection / genre / type of music to listen to. But I’m guessing you don’t do that either? LolRegardless of how it seems to you, taking your eyes off the road and hand off the wheel - no matter how brief - is a distraction from driving and has obvious and objectively measurable effects on safety.
Of course, nobody is suggesting you have to change anything or use the new features. I'm merely pointing out that to suggest it's "quicker" to go mash the screen is to miss the point.
