My fiancé was driving our 2023 model Y this morning and got hit at an intersection on the front drivers side. We have USAA insurance, and the just got back with an estimate of $4,800 for the repair, though this was apparently through a virtual appraisal. We now need to take the vehicle to a repair facility of our choice, which is also something I need to figure out. I was wondering if anyone has experience with USAA and Tesla accidents and how they are.

The virtual appraisal was weird to me and seems low and non all inclusive of the damage. I attached some photos of the car for reference.

All estimates are preliminary and insurance companies will only write for what they can see. The body shop will want to be paid for any work not listed on the estimate so they will contact the insurance company once the vehicle is torn down and have an adjuster or to inspect and update the estimate along with resolving any negotiable/disputed items. This is normal.
