Actually Tesla is the only electric carmaker who uses a rare earth free AC induction motor. So that is a selling point.

Or perhaps she can take the cash-value, I don't know if TPIR works that way.

Oh it'll be a lot more than $16k in taxes. There was one that was just sold on eBay where it was won as a prize and they got slapped with $40k in income and sales tax so they needed to immediately resell the car to make up for that massive hit to their income.
