Model S 75D Acceleration Boost

I have a Model S 75D and I'm confused by what I've read about a possible 0-60 in 4.2 seconds acceleration boost and I have a couple of questions.

How do I determine if I'm eligible?
Is it strictly a software update and if so how do I determine if I have it?

Before I took delivery of my new inventory 75D (Aug, 2017 production) a week ago, I called two separate local SC, provided the vin, and asked wether it’ll be uncorkable. Both times told no. As a last ditch effort, I asked my delivery specialist to check again and if possible to pick it up uncorked. He called me the next day and said the car is in queue to have the software checked for possible uncork. A few hours later I was told the car was uncorked and ready for pick up!

It is software but the service center needs to uncork, it doesn't happen without a visit.

Call your service center, they will be able to tell you.

It is worth the effort.

Wouldn't an Aug 2017 Production build automatically have the faster speed? I thought every 75D produced starting July 1st and on had 4.2, 0-60 so what's to uncork? I'm confused

I guess not. I think the cars produced between July and uncorking announcement (September?) were not uncorked

I think I've read some cars made between July 1st and 15th may not have come from the factory uncorked.
