Insurance is getting out of hand

I've been looking at options for my 2015 P90D Model S.
Started around 3 years ago with CommInsure at ~$200 a month.
Moved from CommInsure to RACV last year when they upped rates to around $350 a month.
RACV Renewal is now around $320 Inc GST a month.

Age 41, Rated 1, No Accident History last 3 Years Agreed Value $80,000. $2000 Excess.

Thankfully I'm saving $$$ on Fuel with 8c kwh Electricity otherwise it starts becoming a concern!!

Just got quoted by MB Insurance direct at $450 a month. So there goes a cheaper option.

Just as a further point... If I was to do similar quotes with other EV's at around a similar value its completely different.
For Example
2022 Jaguar I Pace 90000 Agreed Value $2000 excess comes in at $158 Inc GST
2023 BYD Seal $80,000 Agreed Value $2000 Excess: $115 Inc GST
2022 BMW iX $$90000 Agreed Value $2000 Excess: $115 Inc GST

I need to look into it further but it beats RACV by about $20.

I’ve been getting quotes for M3LR agreed at around 75k - ranging from $1700-$3000 pa. Windscreen cover, $1100 excess and no hire car (I’ve got enough other cars and I hate loan cars). Pretty wild the variance, but I’m finding that with my other cars too, even renewals sometimes off the charts, AAMI quoted me $4k to insure a bloody Volvo that everyone else was around $1,000 for - I put the quote through a few times to make sure it wasn’t I’d entered something wrong

It does seem that the Insurance rates are rising as the Insurance companies have more data on accidents and written off statistics etc.
Model S/X seem worse than others from my comparisons.

My insurance broker obtained a price for me from MB Insurance. At the time I checked if he was earning his fee, and my online price direct was almost double what he achieved.
