How to tell if a vehicle is charging?

Doesn't the EVSEs display when power is being delivered ? My Clipper Creek LCS-25 has a yellow light for "power" which is always on, and a green light for "charging" which is only lit when the power is on from the EVSE to the car.

Yes that is potentially a whole sub-thread - the different indicators of EVSEs. I think it's less to remember to just know what the car is doing, especially if they are using a UMC with no display.
