Both 120 and 240 use two conductors and a ground so no change there. I added a conductor for the pilot and wired this into a home made EVSE. This EVSE was hard wired to my load center, so no plug. This gave 16 amps @240v which was OK for my offgrid solar charging. I actually no longer use this setup. I have now modified a Stegen Electronics Smart EVSE and it changes the charge rate to the car based on the amps of PV being produced, essentially dumping all my excess PV into the car. I put a J1772 connector on that one and use adapters for the Roadster and Model S. Dismantling and reworking the old Roadster Spare Mobile connector was just the beginning of several years of tinkering and my project has, shall I say, matured.
