Hertz charger $277 for *gasoline* to fill-up a Model 3

This is head scratcher.
Charging $277 for gasoline fill-up a Model 3 (and $277 is at least 55 gallons worth of gas!!)

On top of the, the renter also paid ahead for fill-up, so should not have even received that charge!

Hertz EVs failed because of stupid stuff like this.

Employees poorly trained or not trained at all.

But of course EVs get the blame.

I've been getting 'incorrect' charges for rental car damage recently as well. Both times I questioned it and they quickly apologized for the mistake.

I think they're trying everything they can in hopes folks won't notice and just pay.

I had to go to social media to correct problems. I’m not a big FaceTime Fan but using that, Twitter and instagram gets fast results these days!

Rental companies charge high refueling charges because they need to cover both the fuel, and the labor to have them topped off.

Would rather have their cars returned with at least as much fuel as when they drove off.

Refueling is a pain for doing, so they charge a lot as well.

I think this is standard procedure for them and medical insurance billing. Fight it a little as a delay tactic then remove it when challenged by facts or when sued or when the local news company does a story.
