With our induction cooktop, I start the water and by the time I get the cups out and the tea bags in, it's boiling. Really, with no exaggeration.

Drinkable tea doesn't come in bags (yuck , and the water temperature shouldn't be anywhere close to boiling. Depending upon the tea it should be kept at 70-80C (160-175) and some types should be even cooler. If the tea is too hot you'll get the wrong chemicals out and it will be bitter rather than astringent. The temperature of the thermal pot is set to 85C (185) so that it will cool to the right temperature by the time you warm the pot and the cups.

Do yourself a favor and upgrade to loose tea -- the quality is so much better. Upton Tea is a great supplier.
