I finally got the strap installed. Still needs some kind of brace under it.

While the car was never quiet, I fear I made the road noise worse by removing that bit of insulation. I traded in on a new MYP and wont be hacking up the rear this time. I'll just throw the Modern Spare in the back for any extended road trips.

I only had to make two cuts with an exacto and cut a piece of foam off. With no weight on the trunk boards it is about 1/2” higher in the middle. With weight on it it’s flat.

I trimmed the lip of the second piece closer to the seats. It seems like it sits flat with the tire in there, but I notice a peak in my cargo cover.

It's fine, but the OCD in me wants to iron it.

Also, the case I have supporting the near side of the tire is about an inch too short.

Actually, I did it in the MYP. I just made less cuts this time. Well worth it.
